| The species wiped out by human society, sure, if those worlds still exist for the species to live in. | |

So you would be fine with them bringing back the Dodo since it was killed off by humans and not some kind of natural disaster?

| If the traits adapted through the many previous of years of their existence are still applicable to surviving in that given environment then yes.
Problem is though, you eliminate one species, it reverberates through the food chain. The elements of a extincts species ecosystem can be impacted by their removal in such a way that their return and survival can never be feasible.

Doesn't seem like the Dodo would qualify for that. Would you be OK with it being brought back and placed in zoos? Also on the list are saber tooth tigers and wooly mammoths. You OK with those being brought back and placed in zoos? Or are you firmly for only those that qualify with your statement? Seems a bit wrong to me to bring them back, but if they qualify with what you said, I could live with it.

| The reality is most if not all species would not be able to survive any more by the natural laws of nature, people are too fucked up to allow that. I think existing in a cage is only a layer a layer of existence, essentially zoo'd animals adapt and become new species incapable of an existence shared by their ancestors in many cases. | |

Yeah I agree. They would only be able to survive in controlled environments where they would be used as sideshows anyways. So it would just make the zoo a little cooler and make them more money. Think about the amount of money a zoo would charge for people to see the worlds only sabertooth tiger.

| yes I think it is amazing that they have cloned an extinct species (only for several minutes) and the possibility is there
Note that United States is not the ones doing this.
