I don't think it's hard to get you guys don't like Nascar and like MMA more as do I, it's also not hard to understand our personal opinion doesn't speak to the reality of it, Anything Nascar blows UFC out of the fucking water including Patrick > Rousy.

First, Danica Patrick is 100x more popular then Rousey will ever be.

Second. Vitor vs Hendo is the best fight available in the UFC right now. If you had GSP vs Anderson Silva going on at the same time as Vitor vs Hendo and I could only watch one of them with no chance of ever seeing the other fight. I'd choose Hendo vs Vitor every damn time.

Pretty confident that @UFC 157 is going to exceed 400k PPV buys, by my indicators. Could go well past.

He doesn't know if he should say it, but he's going to say it anyway.

Strikeforce import Tarec Saffiedine, who trains alongside Dan Henderson at Team Quest, claims "Hendo" was not 100-percent healthy for his UFC 157 co-main event fight against Lyoto Machida last Saturday night (Feb. 23, 2013) at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California (recap).

From his appearance on the MMA Hour:

Quote:
"Dan is always 100-percent in his mind. But his body, you know, his body wasn't -- I don't know if I can say it -- but it wasn't 100-percent healthy. But Dan, whatever is going on with his body, is always 100-percent going into a fight mentally."

Dan definitely was not healthy. His knees had the Larry Johnson wrap up job. His age was showing.

that doesn't mean what she is doing is more impressive. Rousey is 100x the athlete than Danica will ever be.

I'm not saying what she is doing is more difficult or more impressive. I'm just saying Ronda will never even be half as popular as Danica. How many viewers do you think Ronda would get on FOX? Well Danica was on FOX for Daytona 500 and they got 16.7 million viewers. That might be more viewers then all the UFC on FOX cards combined. Of course we love MMA more then NASCAR. But MMA can't sniff NASCAR when it comes to weekly viewers.

this is true. Americans love them some Nascar. I know it's fun to drive fast but i never understood the obsession with watching people drive in circles. I'd rather watch a street race or drag race.

Going to an event live is 10000000x better then watching on TV. It's OK to watch Talladega or Daytona in the final laps because it gets pretty crazy and IMO pretty cool to watch. But that's it really. Pretty much just the end of those 2 races. The rest is pretty damn boring to watch on TV. But you get a whole new appreciation watching live, it's just insane what those nut jobs do. I have been on the front row at Texas Motor Speedway and damn it's intense. No way to capture that on TV.
But it's also so damn long that going to an event kind of sucks too. Just cool to sit up front for 20 laps or so and get your thrill.

would you still sit in the front row after seeing that crash last week? It's the one sport where as a spectator you might get injured or die. I guess that adds to the excitement

It's not the first time or the last time that will happen. But I can't lie, it's pretty fun to stick your face up to the fence as a pack of cars flies by. It's intense. You can feel it in your whole body. Sooooooooo damn loud, sooo loud. But the vibrations from a pack of cars is just unreal. It was beyond what I imagined it would be. It's a very cool experience. But I never want to go to another race again lol, waaaay too long.
