| Anthony Pettis texted me and he said, 'I want to go to 145 and fight Jose Aldo,'" said White. "He just texted me 10 minutes ago. He'd go down, telling me he'd go to 145."
White said he had not yet replied.
Pettis beat Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone at UFC on FOX 6, putting him in line to for a title shot at the winner of UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson vs challenger Gil Melendez.
White said if Pettis does drop, he is not sure who would get the next lightweight title shot.
For his part, Aldo is game.
"It's up to Dana, but that is an interesting fight," said the champion. "I train to fight the best and respect them all. Pettis is almost there with a title shot in his own division, but that would be an interesting fight."

Now that is a true fighter. He wants to fight the arguable P4P best fighter and is willing to cut down to his weight class unlike Anderson. | |

| Epic fight! Pettis is quickly becoming one if my favorites. I think the cut would be easier for him though. Anderson has gained a ton of weight since he was a WW. I don't like the idea if him fighting there. Stay at MW or move up to LHW. | |

| It'll be a fantastic kickboxing match and I like the fact Pettis wants to keep busy with probably a tougher challenge, kid has brass balls. | |

| I think Pettis has it made in his next fight no matter what. At first I thought he was dumb for calling out Aldo but it's not, I just think he will lose but that doesn't matter. His next fight is gonna be for a title and against which ever LW of FW belt holder is ready first. Right now it looks like Aldo is in the lead for that. PPV headliner or huge FOX show no matter which fight it ends up being. This is the perfect type of fight for Aldo, it's on a stage that is next level, the guy that has his shot at the LW belt, wanting to go after his instead at FW. There are 145 pound guys in the mix but no one is where Pettis is in his career at this time within that division. Best part is of course Pettis doesn't have to wait so long. It is a great matchup style wise as well. Aldo became wary of takedown and threw less when he got tired. Him and Pettis will be a better kickboxing fight. | |

| These guys are both 26, still young, this could be the start of a great rivalry over the years. | |
