| @ufc: Dana on Pettis' title shot: "The Melendez fight is set but he's next. I can't say enough good stuff about this kid." | |

| Have:
Healy fight Maynard.
Miller vs Thomson.
Winner vs winner for next shot after Ben/Gilbert vs Pettis.

| @MikeChiappetta: Dana White says Pettis will get the next title shot vs. Henderson vs. Melendez winner. Pettis says if it's guaranteed, he's waiting. #UFC | |

Any combination of these fighters would be an exciting matchup. Grant, Maynard, Thomson, Miller, Healy are all contenders. They just need to be narrowed down.

| Healy will get exposed in the UFC. Not buying him at all, too many good wrestlers who will be able to stuff him and kick his ass on the feet. Maynard and Grant would both smash him IMO | |

| Healy's saving grace is that he has a granite chin. | |

| I shouldn't even say exposed since he's had so many fights and fought in so many promotions, I just don't see him having a lot of success | |

I think he could beat Jamie Varner and Joe Lauzon. Miller would interesting. He matches up well stylistically with Anthony "Tony" Pettis. Your right though, Grant, Maynard, Gilbert, and Bendo would have their way with him. Thomson already beat him.

| Right now would be the perfect time for a 8man light weight tournament.
Gil vs Bendo in April, followed by Pettis vs the winner in the asap after that.
Put on this bad boy culminating in a new years final:
Grey Maynard Nate Diaz Eddie Alvarez Jim Miller TJ Grant Josh Thomson Khabib Nurmagomedov Pat Healy winner of Gomi vs Sanchez or something like that
If Bellator can get most of their tourneys through in less then 3 months, UFC could manage this one I'd think. You could match the loser of Gil vs Bendo against the biggest name to lose in the first or second round of the tourney.

| Fuck it, take it way back. One nighter tournament style to see who fights Benson for the belt. | |

| Even more so than Silva/Bones, I think Aldo-Pettis the most exciting fight that could be made in MMA right now. Looking forward to that hopefully taking place in the next couple years | |

| “Honestly, I don’t care [who wins] as long as we don’t have a decision that’s close. Somebody finish the fight so we’ll have a champ that I can fight. At this point, the belt’s been avoiding me. I’m tired of chasing after it. I’m tired of waiting and putting my career on hold. I just turned 26. I think I’m going to be entering my prime here in the next couple of years. I want to take full advantage of that. … I just want to make sure that it’s official and no matter what happens [between Henderson and Melendez] — a draw, a close decision, no one’s going to cry about the decision — that I’m next no matter what.” | |
