Fighter of the Year?
Fight of the Year?
Most Disappointing/Worse Fight of the Year?
Sub of the Year?
KO of the Year?
Upset of the Year?
Breakout Fighter of the Year?
Comeback Fighter of the Year?
missing any?

I think we should wait til after this weekend to choose.
Diego might get my fighter of the year with a win over Penn.
I might also add "breakout fighter of the year" for someone we all didn't know about like say Hendricks or Aldo.

knockout of the year for me has to be Dan Henderson's brutal but sweet knockout over Micheal Bisping.

Fighter of the Year: I would have to go with Jose Aldo.
Fight of the Year: So many can't really pick one. Torres vs Mizugaki, Varner vs Cowboy, and Heath vs Nickels are some I thinking of at moment, but there is alot more.
Most Disappointing/Worse Fight of the Year?: Anderson vs Leites. Kimbo vs Houston I guess you can consider as well because it fits both categories.
Sub of the Year? Toby Imada Inverted Triangle Choke on Jorge Masvida.
KO of the Year? Hendo over Bisping, Fedor over AA, Marcus Aurelio capoeira knockout.

Nate Quarry vs Tim Credeur is my fight of the year

KO of the year is probably Bispings. The jumping triangle in that WEC event is the sub of the year. Breakout fighter of the year is still Lyoto Machida, but Jose Aldo is fresher in our minds and hasn't had time for a controversial title defense. Comeback fighter of the year is Shogun, maybe Vitor. A lot of fights have been bad and disappointing. GSP is my fighter of the year. Domination over two p4p'rs in WW title defenses is worth more than what is going on down at 145, a still developing weight class.
PS - those two fights from that spike show Vitor Franklin and Hughes Serra sucked. One was a snooze fest and the other was four minutes of feeling out and a solitary flurry that clipped the faded Ace behind the ear. Yawn.

The problem with these .. is you have to try and remember every fight, going all the way back to last January. And newer fights are fresher on peoples minds.
Fighter of the Year: I am with farmer is could be diego if he beats bj...
Fight of the Year: oh man biased a bit but Condit was in 2 candidate matches for me ... but I seem to want to pick Diego vs Clay
Most Disappointing/Worse Fight of the Year: I am sorry but the Shogun vs Coleman fight made me very angry at life afterwards.
Sub of the Year: I loved Maia's triangle on Sonnen .. but that inverted triangle on Bellator was awesome.
KO of the Year: Hamill had a good one on Munoz .. the capoeira one was awesome .. Jose Aldo's flying knee
Upset of the Year: nothing is coming to mind right now
Breakout Fighter of the Year: for me its bones .. I have been anti his bandwagon but after his last fight, I am jumping on.
Comeback Fighter of the Year: shogun
I will probably edit this as other come to mind.

Fighter of the Year:
Georges St. Pierre. Probably the two biggest wins over the year over BJ Penn and Thiago Alves. In dominationg fashion. I would have listed Lyoto but too much controversy surrounding his fight with Shogun for me to give it to him over such a decisive fighter like GSP
Fight of the Year:
Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida. Crazy fight. Followed closely by MTB vs. Faber II.
Most disappointing/worst fight:
Anderson Silva vs. Thales Leites. It was the main event people. Redemption was also the worst MMA card i've seen this year
Submission of the year:
Toby Imada submitting Masvidal with sick inverted triangle at Bellator 5.
KO of the year:
Dan Henderson knocking Bisping the fuck out.
Upset of the year:
Brett Rogers def Andrei Arlovski
Breakout fighter:
Marius Zaromskis
Comeback fighter:
Mauricio Rua

+ ---- -I was watching Spikes best of 2009 and watched Hughes vs Serra, Belfort vs Ace, etc (there's better) .. I know there is still a couple of events still left but we could start discussing now...
Fighter of the Year? - Fedor
Fight of the Year? - hmm this is tough but i'd go with Torres vs Mizugaki
Most Disappointing/Worse Fight of the Year? - Honestly i thought if UFC was gonna push the whole Kimbo thing they would come through with a good brawl matchup but Houston ruined it by using "strategy" for the first time in his fucking career.
Sub of the Year? - Inverted Triangle Tony
KO of the Year? Dan Henderson vs Bisbing
Upset of the Year? - I know alot of people on here called it but i'd still have to go with Brian Bowles win over Miguel Torres.
Breakout Fighter of the Year? - Lyoto Mchida, also Jon Jones and Jose Aldo are up there
Comeback Fighter of the - Personally for me it's Bj Penn. Some would say he never left but there was a period of time where i questioned his greatness and heart. When he got destroyed by GSP i had doubts that he would be the same Bj .... and instead he became a better Bj Penn. If Bj wins his fight with Diego than that really establishes him back as a p4p great.
And a nod to Shogun

Im surprised how many people are going Hendo for KO of the year? I know most dislike Bisping but what else about that KO seperates it from either of Fedor's KO's, Lyoto's KO over Rashad(good call Bigs,) or Aldo's KO over Swanson(my choice is between these final 2).
Subject: Re: NPs Best of 2009 Thu Dec 10, 2009 4:34 pm
It was a huge fight with a lot of build w. TUF, everyone has been wanting that KO for years, and Hendo went vertical with the 2nd shot. That is a formula for KO of the year.
Jose Aldo should get some votes too. That was one crazy ass double flying knee.
I might give Zaromskis some consideration for the 2 head kick KOs in one night. That's nuts!

There have been some awesome KOs but my vote certainly goes to Hendo. I thought there was a chance Bisping might be dead

My bad, totally forgot about the 2nd shot. How? Combo of booze and smoke.
It is worthy.

1st that was a devestating KO to someone who had never been KOd before. More importantly, like previously stated, that 2nd shot just added OOMPH! To the first one. 3rd, I am fairly sure it changed Michael Bisping's speech and attitude, that was one humble Mother Fucker in his follow up bout.
