| He's 17-1 (7-1 in the UFC) with his only loss being a questionable decision. Give him Kos, Fitch, or Hendricks/Kampmann loser. | |

| Must have been thinking of a different fight, but thats what you get out of this thread? It was controversal.
The guy is 7-1 in the UFC. Guys like Machida are getting title shots after going 2-3.

| I agree he deserves a step up in competition. But to call his loss to Pyle controversial/questionable is a something someone might say if they hadn't seen the fight. The only controversy anyone saw coming out of that fight was putting so much hype on him coming in. Nobody thought Hathaway won that fight, nobody thought he won a round of that fight, his hype train got derailed big time by Pyle who is at best a middle of the pack welterweight. Hathaway needs to do more than just be tall at the next level. | |

I do agree he's not going to beat the top dogs, but he's in a similar situation to Jim Miller a year or so ago. The difference is everyone was screaming for Miller to get a big fight or title shot. I think I'm the first here to get John some credit. Has he been on anyone's top 10? top 15?

| Hathaway looked huge and ripped against MaGuire, that lanky frame is beginning to fill out.
Koscheck would be cool. |

I think I'm the first here to get John some credit. Has he been on anyone's top 10? top 15? There's a reason he wasn't in anyone's top 10 or top 15. The reason is outside of stuffing Diego Sanchez takedowns we wouldn't even be talking about him right now after Pyle did what Pyle did to him. Look at who he's been fighting for christs sakes. Rick Story in Story's UFC debut, Paul Taylor who is now fighting at 155, Diego Sanchez who has looked pretty poor since fighting BJ, Kris McCray who went 3 and out in the UFC, Pascal Krauss used as local filler on two germany cards, and now Maguire who just might be Hathaway's second best win to date. Let's not act like 7 and 1 against guys who either aren't in the promotion anymore, or weren't far off making their debut in it is as huge a feat as Jim Miller for the most part finishing guys we actually knew about when he fought them.

| I think Farmer got him mixed up with Evan Dunham and his controversial loss to Sean Sherk. |
