| How long is Dan going to be out injured ?
I take it his #1 contender status won't be guaranteed when Dan returns ? |

| He fights for the belt when ever he wants upon his return. | |

But didn't Dana say during all the fall out that Dan could end up in a similar position to what happened to Shad ? And if Gustaffsson looks impressive against Shogun won't he catapolt to a title shot ? |

| Dans legend status and current won streak trumps Gus IMO. Not taking anything away from Gus either. | |

| Dana probably isn't hapy with Hendo. Maybe he'll ome back and get a shot, maybe not. He'll need to beat Machida, Shad, Gus, or another big name. | |

Dan already declined Machida once I doubt he'll be keen on that fight. In a perfect world we might get a Shogun rematch for the right to face Bones. |

| He should still get a shot when he comes back. Machida is the one who lost his place in line and is going to have to fight again | |

From what I read Machida wanted the fight in Rio. |

From what I read Machida wanted the fight in Rio. Truth. But he turned down 2 fights and asked for one that wasn't being offered. | |

| Well its clear now his answer would've been no then as well since 4 weeks wasn't enough time to prepare. He's going to have to fight again, it was a dumb decision by him. You've already fought the guy once, as long as he was in shape 4 weeks is enough time to prepare for him again. Now Machida is going to have to beat another top guy | |

| I am not that bothered by Machida's decision because Bones is an extremely tricky opponent who does require a full camp to prepare for. |

I am bothered because chicken shit babies shouldn't be the best fighters in the world. If that's the case then Hendo's a chicken shit baby as well when he declined to fight Machida awhile back. |

It's still a chicken shit move if you go by your previous post. |
