| Sanchez, who couldn't finish Stevenson or Guida, is now gonna finish Penn? That's funny. | |

You can't look at Kongo's resume and tell me that anyone he's fought is even on the same planet as Mir when it comes to submission ability...
true but the same could most certainly have been said about Rogers vs Fedor, and Rogers proved himself very competent on the ground in that fight. I don't think it's a given that Mir sub's Kongo if it goes to the ground. that said I would hope Kongo would play it smart and not follow mir to the ground no matter how hurt Frank might be. The only reason Rogers looked even competent on the ground against Fedor is because of the ridiculous size difference. All things being equal...Fedor would absolutely dominate Rogers on the ground. Kongo is getting subbed. Also, I think BJ is going to dominate Diego. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think Diego has anything for BJ standing or on the ground.

Who cares what arguments are made prior to a fight??? That's all speculation. We've seen guys who outsize Fedor land on top of him before (HMC), Rogers landed a couple shots but Fedor is FAR more skilled on the ground...much like Mir is FAR more skilled on the ground than Kongo.

Well the argument's b4 the Fedor fight was, "if this fight goes to the ground it is over" that belief which sounds alot like the current Mir/Kongo argument, was held by 90% of the MMA audience. Yet we learned it was not true in regards to Fedor Rogers, and we may have different reasonings as to why it was not true, so I'm not super quick to agree with that argument in this case.

| but we've never seen Kongo submitted. We've seen Cain, who is a brutal gnp guy, brutally gnp Kongo, but Mir is not a gnp guy. He's a submission guy(who has nowhere near the takedown ability of cain), and again we have never seen Kongo submitted. | |

Kongo has never fought anyone who is a good submission artist. The UFC has purposefully chosen opponents for Kongo who are strikers until Cain. When the fight hits the ground Kongo is lost and you DO NOT want to be lost on the ground with a guy like Frank Mir. He's getting subbed.
