Even though I think Hector won and Boetech lost, I would probably move Hector down a couple spots still. Below Weidman and probably Chael as well. I'd probably keep Timmy right were he is though.

I actually scored it for Boetsch to be honest. Neither really looked good but at least Boetsch was actively moving and whatnot. Hector spent the better part of two rounds just staring at him.

I don't think more movement means you're winning. Fighters like to use movement to give the impression they are working. But Timmy wasn't landing much except leg kicks and Hector seemed to be landing the more solid shots. I don't think just because Tim was circling and Hector wasn't should have anything to do with it. Neither guy did much but Hector's shots seemed to have more of an impact. It's not like Hector was backing up when Timmy was moving. 1st round did have much but I was pretty confident watching live that Hector was more effective in the little bit of action there was.

I just don't like to give the round to someone who's not really doing anything. Playing the role of the counter puncher really only works when you can effectively outstrike the opponent. Without Boetsch initiating or moving at all we would have had two guys standing still and doing nothing for 15 minutes, which is almost what we had anyway. I have to give some weight to the fact that without Boetsch trying to get something going most of the time there'd have been no fight.

It's not like Timmy was using his movement offensively. He was moving just to be moving. That is equal to standing still for me. No points given for that. Timmy did a poor job of turning his extra movement into anything effective. When he did shuffle his way into range IMO Hector got the better shots in. You can flip it around and say if Hector did what Timmy did they would have been dancing around staring at eachother instead. Not really any better.

Post fight I have more respect for Timmy then I did in the fight since I found out he broke his foot early on in that fight and that forced him to change his game plan. Broken foot is nothing to sneeze at and it looked pretty jacked up after the fight. I'm sure that effected his ability to really sit on a punch or explode for a take down.

I had a small bet on Boetsch, check My breakdown of the fight in the predictions thread. I didn't expect him to win. It was a value bet.
