I wish this guy didn't have an alter ego of Super Douche. Might be tolerable. Also if he didn't lie is ass off constantly.

He mentions he has to cut 20lbs. Here is Mike Dolce giving some details on the cut.

"We're going to relax for a little bit and then we're going to check his weight and we're going to start to break a sweat. We're not going to work it off, we're not going to run it off, we're not going to grapple it off or hit pads. We're not going to put on plastics or step in the sauna; right now, we've prepared the body through scientific method to start releasing the weight. We've increased the metabolism, we've increased the core temperature -- he's sweating right now talking. His body is purging the weight in the most healthy manner possible. What I was able to do was find a system that allows these athletes to lose weight in a healthy manner, give the athletes what they need and then the body does what we want it to do instead of the opposite."

I love hearing about what these guys are eating and how they are losing weight. Both are great interviews.

He did sound infomercially, but when u compare his method to the traditional weight cut, one can't help but give him props. I thought the trash bag in the sauna method was still what people did. Pretty enlightening.

The media even served up a great big softball for Sonnen, hoping he might bite. But he didn't. He stayed as classy as could be.
On Silva grabbing his shorts:
Quote :
"Yeah, Anderson grabbed my trunks but I grabbed his right back. It goes both ways. We can't sit and nit pick some of that stuff. It's a two man sport. It's kind of like moving the chains in football, it evens itself out. What goes around comes around. Anderson grabbed my shorts tonight, I'll grab someone else's shorts down the road."
On the knee on the ground:
"
Quote :
You know, I don't make those decisions and I hate those rules anyway. You know, I'm an old school guy before we had rounds and weight classes and all that stuff. We're in a lot better spot now, I don't propose we should go back to that but I don't care about legal or illegal. I could see him, I could see it coming. That's just the way it goes."
On making peace with Silva and being invited to a barbecue after the fight:
Quote :
"That's the way you deal with combat. You always shake hands and you always leave it in the Octagon, or in the ring, or on the mat. Those are the rules and I follow those same rules. That was great that he did it, it was very nice of him. Man, the Brazilian fans have it down right. They back their guy. North American is the only country in the world where we don't do that, and that's fine. But I really admire the Brazilian fans, including when I'm getting booed on the way in. I should be getting booed when I'm taking on their guy."
On how grateful he is for the chances he was given and what's next:
Quote :
"I really believe if you're going to be in this company and you're going to take up a spot that you gotta be chasing a championship. Don't be there just to be there. There are plenty of young guys that can come in and get their opportunity. I had my chance and then I got it again. I'm not going to ask for anything. I'm grateful for it. I'll make those decisions later. But I will not hang around not for one day to blend in. It's either to be the world champ or move on and do something else."

Short grabbing, yep, like I said, that is trying to win and most guys are doing the little things like that normally.
Knee, pow, not right in the kisser.
Fans. what Chale doesn't get is his voice is annoying and he talks way too much about shit normal people don't like. The American fan base doesn't need to be prejudice to know Chale is a fraud and an idiot.
His last point I agree with 100%. I don't approve of his conduct though in getting to the title fight. That is a Zuffa issue though where your ability to sell a ppv fight far trumps your ability as a fighter.

I wanna know what exactly Renzo said to him.
A very sincere Sonnen had this to say to Ariel Helwani:
Quote :
"I got a call from Renzo Gracie. When you get a call from a Gracie, it's kind of like getting a call from Randy Couture. You don't share your opinion, you listen, you say okay, and you hang up. And, that's it. He wasn't overly happy with me, but let's leave it at that. There are certain guys that are off limits. The Gracies, Randy Couture, those guys are MMA royalty and if I'm told something, that's it. Things changed after I got off the phone."
So what exactly did Renzo tell Sonnen in their conversation? Renzo stopped by The MMA Hour earlier this week (July 9, 2012) to explain the purpose of the call:
Quote :
"It's very easy to get lost when you start talking trash. It's very easy to get lost of the real focus. So, in reality, I didn't call to tell him to chill. I called to show the goal that he should be aiming for. He's a great kid, he listened and showed that he can be an unbelievable professional when he needs to. You have to understand, he is one of the most humble guys I've ever seen. He understood, agreed and completely changed."
MMA Fighting previously elaborated a bit more in detail what Renzo told Sonnen:
Quote :
"I just told him that if he kept that trash talking he would be taking the greatness of the task that he had ahead of him. He is fighting one of the best fighters of our generation, and people would lose the chance to know the real Sonnen, a great athlete who I saw young fighting hard back in the Japan days, building his career as a fierce fighter, a career that ended up turning him into one of the amazing people that populate our great sport. I just asked him to behave with the greatness of a champion. Many fighters dream with that opportunity, to fight the best and test themselves in the toughest sport that existed. Be great, be bold, be fair, and above all, be honest. Some will love you, others will hate you, but they will know who you really are. Fight this fight in a way that will be unforgettable to those who had the privilege to watch. I won't miss a second of this great match."
On The MMA Hour, Renzo also felt the Sonnen may not have been 100 percent mentally in the fight:
Quote :
"In the first round he completely dominated, and it shows the caliber of fighter he is. He was mounted in the first round. I know him, he could've done it for the five rounds if it was necessary. But when you end up getting lost in the media frenzy of talking trash and promoting the fight and insulting people, you end up losing the focus of the job that you have and the task you have ahead of you. When you hit that wall -- and fighting Anderson is always going to be tough -- so when you hit that wall of toughness, if you're mind is not 100 percent there, it's difficult to keep it up. In reality, I thought that's what happened to him. Even though he had all the tools, his mind wasn't there 100 percent."

About Chael not being 100% there mentally?

That was actually pretty good speech IMO from Chael right there.
