| I know Mendes beat him, but this guy at least has a decent shot at landing something on Aldo, where Mendes literally had no chance of beating Jose Aldo at all. | |

Its easy to say that. Mendes had a shot with wrestling. He's better than Faber or Brown. Koch has zero chance. Aldo is going to be at something ridiculous like -900 when the line opens. | |

| No other wrestlers ever took a fresh Aldo down. Faber, Brown, Manny never even got close. I thought that Mendes might have a chance if he could get the takedown, but I didn't think it was likely. And the entire fight was going to be decided within the first 30 seconds. Mendes fails to get takedown = fight already over. Mendes had an interesting shot on paper if he could wrestle him, but he couldn't so he literally had no way to win.
Koch doesn't have this problem. Aldo will strike with him. | |
