| Lima is gassed and mentally beaten.
He get's full mount, get's turned around. Looks like he might have something going submission wise..Askren does some funky step over or sweep. Askren does have a very active wrestling style. It's still not all that entertaining to me...but i can't accuse him of LnP...he works.

| You have to possess an appreciation for how effortlessly Askren avoids sub attempts and always ends up on top in scrambles
I'd rather see Lima in the UFC anyway. Hopefully this is the last fight on his contract

| The people who dislike Askren as a fighter are the people who have never grappled a day in their lives. The way he scrambles and gets out of submissions, especially against a great grappler like Lima just amazes me. If Askren could just focus on developing chokes into his arsenal he would be a force and most likely more appreciated. That darce that he had on Lima was very close though. | |

| Im completely with you Ninja that performance was FUNKY the way Askren seemlessy just steps over out of a heel hook, sits on top of you for a second, spins out, goes right back to stacking you. Its just nuts.
Anyone notice when Lima somehow managed to end up from butterfly guard to on top of Askren and close to full mount. Askren was back on top of him 3 seconds later.
His grappling is amazing,

| Ninja and Bird, you two are spot on here. Askren has amazing overall grappling and its ridiculous how calm he is in bad positions and how he always manages to end up on top. He needs to start finishing people though. Thats 6 decisions in a row and his only finishes were against lower level guys. Also, his power is non-existent. The guy is amazing, but if he had even a little bit of power, with the positions he gets on people, he would be laying them out on the ground. Also, anyone think he could drop to 155 by the way he looked Friday night? | |

If the Canadian fans want to stand on their feet for 25 minutes with Douglas, well, they wouldn’t last that long because he’d probably finish them earlier. My striking has improved tremendously, but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to stand around for 25 minutes and slug it out with someone that has one-punch knockout power. That’s ridiculous. If I wanted to do that I’d go to the sport of kickboxing. People neglect the fact that I have a brown belt in jiu-jitsu. I feel like I landed ten times as many punches as I ever have and a lot of them were really, really hard. A lot of lesser men would have rolled over and gave up a rear-naked choke like most of the sissies in MMA."

| Just finished watching.
Kind of like that Sandro won, if only because this might be his last real go at a title, while Popo has a whole career ahead of him. As for Popo giving Sandro too much respect. I thought Sandro looked so much physically stronger that I can see why Popo would not go out there firing away. Also Popo was working with the counter punch game plan, which didn't prove totally unsuccessful. And Sandro is good, lets not write him off as a guy popo should have just blasted through.
Askren? Total bore, I stop watching his fights in the 3rd when it becomes painfully obvious that a)the opponent cannot keep the fight standing and b)Askren is not going to finish. Give me a break on this guy having an exciting grappling style. Little damage, and few sub attempts. Im not a guy who says "can't wait to see this guy in the UFC" But I have little interest in seeing exciting Bellator WW's fight for the Bellator title.
Agree the first japanese guy benefits from conventional US judging. And like with Popo, the brazilian here looks to have a bright future.
