| They were trying hard to make Pettis vs Gilbert happen, but once Pettis got injured they jut scrapped the idea.

We got/get Hendo v Jones/Evans, Overeem vs Brock, Overeem vs JDS, Diaz vs Penn, and Diaz vs Condit out of the deal so far. All 5 fights bigger than anything in SF.

| Strikeforce - 30 cards in the last two years, 2012's third SF event is scheduled for May. How is that better? | |

| Zuffa was banking on the casual fan mentality of a couple of big fights being more important then a higher volume of quality fights. I like watching MMA so I'll take more quality fights over a couple of big moments any day. | |

| Bigfoot, Reem, Werdum, Cormier, and Barnett in the UFC alone makes the buyout worth it.
I'd still like to just see a full merger

I'd still like to just see a full merger I'd rather keep getting non PPV cards on Showtime. SF was almost can't miss with it's entertainment. I like watching fights. But I guess that isn't important to MMA fans?

| The UFC is at the point where the ratio for every PPV compared to an FX/Fuel/Fox card is pretty small. I can live with that for seeing the best fighting under the same org.
Watching fights is cool and all, but when more than half the discussion revolves around: "Man, I'd like to see what this guy could do in the UFC" then it has its drawbacks

| I don't think its been that bad. Which guys have been really unactive since Zuffa? You have to factor in that the prelims are actually stacked since Zuffa has been running it which helps a lot
Mousasi I'd obviously like to see fighting but Kyle pulled out for the 10th time after they had that set up. I do want to see Romero and de Lima back in there though

But you know what, I'm going to try and make a statement with Thomson and I am going to show him there is a big difference between the guy he fought in 2006, 2009 and now 2012. I really want to display my skills so I am going to get pumped for this."
When asked what it would take to get Zuffa to bend a little bit and send him some 155-pound sharks from the UFC his way, "El Nino" says he is trying, but he doesn't see the same eagerness from those Lightweights: - Quote :

Why would he see the eagerness? They know the undercard of a UFC fight or a fight on FX is bigger than headlining Strikeforce. They know people associate MMA=UFC. Gil needs to hurry up and finish his deal so he can sign with the UFC.

| Yeah I was kind of thinking the same thing. Why would one of the higher profile guys in the UFC be eager to jump over to SF to challenge Gil? I guess I could see someone like Kenny Florian, since he won't be getting another title shot...ever. He would have to hope for one of the guys ranked between 5-10 in the UFC to make the jump. Because I don't see the guys "in the mix" crossing over for such a difficult fight. Maybe someone like BJ Penn who is probably only interested in big time matchups. | |

I don't know if Gil expects those guys to be eager, I think he is just making the observation that while he would love to fight some of the UFC guys, those guys do not want to make the move to SF. Gil seems to be the guy who has been left out in the cold in the merger. And it came at a bad time considering his self imposed layoff prior to the buyout.

He's in a different class then any of the other SF guys still stuck there. Given Thomsons last performance I really hope Gil goes in there and pummels him.
