Yeah that was a wrestling trip more than a judo throw. Judoka's don't typically remove an arm from the body because it opens up for a transition to the back, in which you might be more easily countered and thrown.

It's not even really a trip. When you grab someone in a head lock it's kind of a natural reaction to step behind them which really just helps them carry your momentum and toss them over your hip. Very effective move vs noobs.

It's a pretty basic wrestling head throw. You just need an underhook and an overhook thats over the shoulder instead of around the side of the shoulder. What that kid in the black shirt needed to do was jam his knee between red's legs and do something with the body lock red was giving up.

Naw, just watched that first throw 10 times. Two hands around the head, no arm or shirt used. It's a headlock. Nit picking but the moves are almost identical. 1st toss is a standing headlock, he just doesn't hold it.

Well you have to have an arm in or you have to let go when you hit the ground. Against the rules to have a headlock and lock your hands without an arm in when you hit the ground. 1st one was a standing headlock, no question. 2nd one you could have a judo argument.

The only reason there is a Judo argument on the second throw is because he slides his leg up to catch over the knees the second time. He doesn't have the shirt or anything at any time from what I could see.

He should have held onto it and then turned it into a arm triangle, that's my expert advice. I could turn him into a contender.
