CompuBox compiles a list of the oldest boxers to risk the heavyweight crown, as 40-year-old Vitali Klitschko defends the WBC title later tonight against Dereck Chisora in Munich, Germany.

1. George Foreman -- 46 years 113 days (April 22, 1995, W 12 Axel Schulz, retains IBF title)

2. Vitali Klitschko -- 40 years 63 days (September 10, 2011, KO 10 Tomasz Adamek, retains WBC title)

3. Vitali Klitschko -- 39 years 253 days (March 19, 2011, KO 1 Odlanier Solis, retains WBC title)

4. Vitali Klitschko -- 39 years 99 days (October 16, 2010, W 12 Shannon Briggs, retains WBC title)

5. Oleg Maskaev -- 39 years 16 days (March 8, 2008, KO by 6 Samuel Peter, loses WBC title)

6. Vitali Klitschko -- 38 years 324 days (May 29, 2010, KO 10 Albert Sosnowski, retains WBC title)

7. Jersey Joe Walcott -- 38 years 245 days (September 23, 1952, KO by 13 Rocky Marciano, loses World title)

8. Vitali Klitschko -- 38 years 156 days (December 12, 2009, W 12 Kevin Johnson, retains WBC title)

9. Evander Holyfield -- 38 years 145 days (March 3, 2001, L 12 John Ruiz II, loses WBA title)

10. Jersey Joe Walcott -- 38 years 135 days (June 5, 1952, W 15 Ezzard Charles IV, retains World title)

* Vitali Klitschko will be 40 years 224 days old on February 18, 2012 when defending title against Dereck Chisora and will need to hold belt until October 29, 2017 to break Foreman's record.

the craziest thing on this list, is that other than Oleg Maskaev and that type of recent , most of these guys did extremely well, Jersey Joe Walcott lost to Rocky Marciano via the punch from hell and Foreman got screwed in his loss to Briggs
