I also think Faber takes it. As long as his hands stay in one piece it should be a great fight.

Cruz is going to hop in and out and hope to out point Faber again. I really hope Faber gets ahold of him this time around.

Or maybe Faber will actually be given the rounds he knocks the mother fucker down in. Once Faber wins, he'll be 3-0 by rights against this dude.

Some judges eat that "movement fighting" shit up. Which I can't stand.

Cruz rightfully won the last fight. Faber didn't do enough to warrant a decision

It's a balance that the current rules make maddening really. There should be a clear emphasis on trying to finish. "Finishing intent" should be in the "aggression" stipulation. Even Machida, who was before he began to actually finish most of his fights, a fighter who tried to finish most of his bouts. He knocked down and pounced on Heath, Nakamura, Tito etc. I'd hate to see the rules changed in a way that would lead to more Lenard Garcia decisions where wading into crisp counter punching throwing haymakers that miss is rewarded but I don't want to see this point fighting style continue to expand and be defended by MMA snobs(read gaywads) under some "OMG go watch toughman" rationale either. To that argument I say resoundingly fuck you niggaz ; go watch Pride and the WEC and tell me how point fighting is superior to that. I dare ya. And I don't buy the idea Cruz is just as much a finisher as Faber, but has just fought a tougher schedule. The numbers seem to suggest that as Ludo pointed out once, but Cruz has fought guys who fight an average of ten pounds lower with much younger careers, where the finishing % is much lower, and most of Cruz opponents only have 12 or less fights and therefore fewer losses by virtue of the fact they haven't been fighting as long. Faber has been fighting much bigger dudes who also in turn fight bigger dudes, and many of Faber's opponents had twice the number of total fights, meaning they had more time to lose. Faber is just a much much better finisher.
Maybe the best approach to keeping guys violent in a sport where winning more and more is all that is important is promotion and pay outs. Guys win with wild super kicks or flying submissions get fat paid, and dance n dodgers and lay and prayers get sent to the undercard, with no locker room bonuses.

I'm with Wolfy how it SHOULD be scored. Also anyone who suggest that Cruz goes for finishes as often Faber is just being silly. He focuses on movement and avoiding damage to win fights on the cards. He throws almost no power strikes and takes almost no risk when he is fighting. He just tries to look as active as possible and hopes that gets him the round.

Finishes will be more available to Cruz as his submission game continues to improve with his wrestling base. He landed some pretty big shots against Faber

I never said Cruz was as much a finisher as Faber, I only said the guys Cruz has fought have been finished much, much less than the opponents Faber has had. It doesn't matter what weight class they fight in, some fighters are just very skilled at not getting finished. Mighty Mouse being a prime example. Cruz had him dead to rights with that back mount and choke. But in this stage of the game in MMA alot of fighters have learned how to escape bad positions, even ones that would have been guaranteed losses just a few years ago unless you were a jiu jitsu ace.

I hope Faber knocks his ass out, I can't stand Cruz and TUF has only confirmed my feelings about him.

TUF has done the exact opposite for me. Cruz is the better coach and less of a pretentious schmuck.

I'm not sure how you can judge who's the better coach from the short clips that are shown. Cruz was a complete asshole to Tickle immediately after a loss and I'm not sure that's the best tactic. Kick your guys while they're down...no thanks.
Faber has been a pretty good dude throughout the show, if you just don't like him for his buttchin or whatever, that doesn't really make him a schmuck.
