Why is Pulver fighting at Featherweight this time? He was all the way down to Fly for his last 2 fights. Really don't want to see Jens get finished again.

http://mmajunkie.com/news/29747/fernandes-vs-falciroli-aoki-vs-folayang-announced-for-one-fc-5.mma
ONE Fighting Championship today announced a new bout and two additions to its Aug. 31 "ONE FC 5: Pride of a Nation" event.

In the headliner, DREAM bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes (11-3) takes on Austrialian CFC titleholder Gustavo Falciroli (12-3-2).

Additionally, reigning DREAM lightweight champion and Japanese veteran Shinya Aoki (30-6-1) and Filipino 155-pounder Eduard Folayang (11-2) have been added to the card, though opponents weren't revealed.

The event takes place at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines, and the event streams online in North America. It's the fifth show for the Singapore-based promotion, which launched nearly a year ago.

As previously reported, ONE FC 5 also features heavyweights Andrei Arlovski (17-9) vs. Soa Palelei (17-3) and lightweight Jens Pulver (26-16-1) vs. Eric Kelly (7-0).

That OneFC event was just awesome, it was a great show. Top 3 event I have seen this year. Allowing kicks to the to head of downed opponents is a game changer. Makes you think twice about laying on your back in gaurd looking for an upkick. I think it was Zoro that was kicking the shit out of Boku on the ground but then got dropped in the next round. That was a great up and down fight. Really was an exceptional show.
I woke up only, only got about 5 hours of sleep and my stream that I paid for fucked up until the Pulver fight started, but it was still totally worth it. No complaints when it was all said and done.

Pulver was beat up a little bit in round 1 but he landed this nice shot later on before the fight was stopped(still went to the cards) from a nut shot.

Zoro-Boku was back and forth. Boku dropped Zoro early but Zoro was dominating when Boku landed the comeback TKO.

Aoki got a quick TD and put Frenchie to sleep. He didn't know he was out until he went for armbar combo.

http://mmajunkie.com/news/31477/mark-fischer-ufc-closing-in-on-next-asian-event-first-tuf-edition-in-china.mma
HONG KONG – This week's UFC on FUEL TV 6 event in Macau is simply laying the groundwork for the organization's continued expansion in the region.

Today, UFC Executive Vice President and Managing Director of UFC Asia Mark Fischer talked about some of the upcoming possibilities.

They include another Asian event, as well as a potential major TV deal in China to bring the country an international edition of "The Ultimate Fighter" reality series.

First up, though, is Saturday's event in Macau, where former UFC middleweight champ Rich Franklin meets ex-Strikeforce titleholder Cung Le in the headliner. It's the first event in Macau, a special administrative region of China, and one that should open the door for continued expansion.

Although the UFC ventured to Japan earlier this year with UFC 144, this weekend's event could be pivotal for both China and all of Asia. So why Macau?

"First of all, there's a fantastic venue there – world-class arena, great facilities with the hotel being nearby, and great logistics," Fischer today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "Secondly, our partners at the Venetian have been tremendous. They've helped promote this event, have been really as much of a marketing partner as they are a venue partner. And finally, Macau is a great destination. It's within three-hour flights of more than 2 billion people, and it's really a great center to kind of kick off not only our first event in Greater China, but really our first event in this part of Asia."

The UFC on FUEL TV event series has done minimal ratings in the U.S., largely because FUEL TV currently is available in so few homes. But it's average daily ratings are up more than 100 percent compared to this time a year ago. This weekend's event, which airs live in the U.S. in the early-morning hours at 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT, isn't a huge deal domestically. But in Asia, those involved see an impact.

"We were doing the PR several months ago, and we had a great reception," said Franklin, a longtime UFC vet who's headlined many cards in new UFC locales. "We did PR in Hong Kong, Macao and also Taipei, and we had a slew of reporters that showed up. There was a lot of excitement in the air about this, so it's been a good reception so far in Asia."

Fischer hopes to parlay that interest into another Asian event sooner rather than later. And some type of announcement could come in a few days.

"We're actually working on something this week that we hope to be able to make at least mention of on Saturday night after this fight is over," Fischer said. "But right now, we're really focused on this one, so stay tuned."

"TUF," which went international this year with both Brazilian and U.K. vs. Australia versions, may not be far behind in China.

"We're actually in pretty detailed discussions right now with a potential broadcast partner in China – one of the top, leading broadcasters in China in terms of reach," Fischer said. "I guess we'll have to stay tuned on that. Nothing to announce today, but we're absolutely keen on doing that. As you know, 'The Ultimate Fighter' is one of the way to grow the sport. It's very key to our growth in the U.S., and we do hope to do that around the world, including here in Asia."

http://mmajunkie.com/news/2012/11/one-fc-6-to-host-featherweight-title-bout-four-man-flyweight-tourney-on-feb-2
ONE Fighting Championships has scheduled its next event for Feb. 2 at Putra Indoor Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

ONE FC CEO Victor Cui told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the show features a first-ever featherweight-title bout and the first leg of a four-man flyweight grand prix. The fighters haven't been announced.

The event, which takes place the same day as UFC 156, streams live in the U.S. on the promotion's website, onefc.com, and internationally on ESPN Star Sports, which is available to 500 million people in 28 countries.

Putra Indoor Arena will be configured to hold 15,000 fans, Cui said. A press conference is planned for next month to announce the event as well as a partnership with a major sponsor, which he declined to name.

Preliminary-card bouts stream for free on the promotion's website while main-card bouts are available for $9.99.

Matchups for the card are nearly set, Cui said, but have not been made official.

Cui, who is in the Philippines working on ONE FC's 2014 schedule, said the promotion is on the cusp of an aggressive schedule expansion. Next year, 12-14 events are planned while 2014 will see 18-24 events.

ONE FC recently partnered with kickboxing purveyors Glory Sports International, which bolsters the promotion's talent pool in time for the ramp-up.

With its September 2011 debut, ONE FC has held five events this year and announced a talent exchange with Japanese promotion DREAM. The promotion crowned a lightweight champ, Kotesu Boku, and a bantamweight titleholder, Soo Chul Kim, at his most recent event, "Rise of Kings."
