Regardless of how it ended, he was a huge part of college football for 60 years. Not surprised it happened, kinda surprised it was that quick

It's amazing when very old people finally stop doing what they have lived for their entire adult lives and then they begin to physically and mentally deteriorate. Happened to my Grandpa a few years ago. His job was holding him together, when he had to finally retire because he was too old he just fell apart completely and died a couple year later.

Football was the only thing keeping Joe Paterno together, and add losing that with the stress of people blaming him for what happened..he was not long for this world post coaching.

RIP

Paterno and Bear Bryant both dying within 2 months of their last college coaching wins. Crazy

Shame the end had to go down like it did

I'd argue the opposite. He lasted as long as he did because he could coach football.

I won't miss him. Anyone who lets a monster like Sandusky hang around and do what he did gets no sympathy in me even if it is in death.

R.I.P. Good coach and a man. I might have a BIG ten bias but I don't care about the BS that happened not his fault.

He didn't let him hang around. He reported the accusation which came after he had retired.

UM yeah Sandusky was retired when the assistant came to Joe but Sandusky was abusing kids through his own program that was ran through penn state. So it doesn't matter if he was fucking retired he was rapping kids at penn state after Joe was told. I think it was 8 kids that sandusky fucked AFTER Joe was told about this because he thought just telling his penn state bosses was enough!! So I'm sorry but Joe was no hero to me and I'm sure not to the 8 kids and family of those kids that might of been saved had abunch of penn state FUCKS including Joe stepped up and did what was right and called the cops.

Not when the last 4 months include finding out you could have helped save 8 kids from being raped but decided just telling your boss was enough. In that case I don't give a fuck what your last 40 years were like.

Well if you don't think the World was a better place because this man was in it, you're wrong. All there is to that.
