| The more I think about it the more I'm starting to think that Brock might win it. He was able to take Cain down and Overeem doesn't have the wrestling to stop the takedown or get back up. |

............i see your point Werdum is a nice win. The fight sucked but Overeem beat the #3 HW in the world at the time (according the NP)

| This is true. But Werdum is kind of damaged goods because of that fight. | |

| Werdum is just like Lesnar to me in different ways. very dangerous HW who is seriously and permanently flawed in several aspects of MMA. | |

| Werdum at HW and Belfiort at LHW in 2005 are his biggest wins. | |

What is Werdum's serious flaw? He has very improved hands. If anything it is his wrestling, but Mir, JDS, and Nog don't have great wrestling either. How JDS does have solid takedown defense.

pretty much, he's got a couple on Belfort i believe. Werdum being his best win at HW, not a bad win neither

| werdum was a good win but no way should he have been so high. The fedor win was what got him up there but come on. Werdum was crackin the top ten at the time fedor lost. In fedors following fight again he lost to a guy cracking the top ten. Most wouldnt pick werdum again in a rematch, i least i wouldnt. Still werdum is good but based on who coukd beat who i wouldn pick him over mir, lesnar, cain, jds, overeem, cormier, nelson and probably even nog. I do pick him over the rest such as bigfoot, cro cop,pro wrestler barnett, browne, arlovski,,barry, fat timmy, sergei n probably schuab. Not sure bout kongo. | |

| The Werdums and Maias of the world have really worked on their striking, making them very dangerous opponents. I think they are underrated now... | |

| Werdum's flaws are his wrestling and his striking. I agree Werdum has improved his striking, but does not and will not ever have one punch power and that is almost a requirement at HW for MMA when everyone else who matters has such power nowadays. He is almost 1.5 dimensional.
Lesnar has solid wrestling and power, but is technically horrific and hates being hit. He's also about 1.5 dimensional.

| Lesnar has flaws in his game, but so does Overeem. Besides, Lesnars one positive dimension, is fucking huge! | |

| Brock needs to take him to the ground post haste and keep him there. His ground game would be much better if his submission game was up to snuff. | |

| Honestly I can agree with the notion that Werdum being Overeem's biggest win isn't all that impressive. We were obligated to give Werdum the ranking he had after beating Fedor. But where would Werdum have been ranked had he never fought Fedor? He'd have been ranked probably 7th or 8th at best or even outside the top ten. | |

He's been training with Comprido for a pretty long time now. His top submission game could very easily be up to snuff, we haven't seen him on top of anyone for a sustained period since he tapped Carwin. He was on top of Mir for a long time, but obviously his chances of tapping him are minimal and he was beating the shit out of him anyway.

Thanks for the info.I wasn't aware he was working on his submissions with Comprido.I think his sub of Carwin had more to do with Shane being gassed than anything else.I could have gooten out of that sub,and I have limited experience in BJJ.

| Lesnar has not been working with these guys for significant amounts of time as much as people believe. He has been out of the gym for most of the last three years other than actual camp time dealing with specific fights due to injury. Lesnar not being able to train is a big reason his skills are not up to snuff

| Well he's definitely missed a lot of time because of the illness over the past couple years but when he's actually in the gym training, Comprido is certainly a staple there and its not like he's spending a lot of time practicing off his back so I'm sure his top game is pretty solid compared to what we saw in the Herring fight for instance. Brock's biggest weakness is his sloppiness right after takedowns. He tries to pass way too aggressively and way too fast. It let Cain get back up to his feet quickly and the same thing happened to Couture | |

I had the exact surgery Lesnar had,and it took me a year before I was back to anything close to 100%.As you stated, his inactivity in the last few years certainly isn't helping him to correct his flaws. If he is knocked out by Overeem,Brock needs to contemplate a career change.

| dont think its lesnars chin that wont hold up compared to reems. Now if it has to do with him getting hit and knowin how to react to it compared to reem, well then thats a different story(as long as it isnt a power punch, reem for sure would go to sleep yet once again). Should be a good, even fight either way no matter who wins | |

| Id like Overeem to win, but won't lose any sleep if he does not. I am leaning towards Lesnar but i have yet to make an official pick.
