When I hear Thorin Oakenshield's company sing the Misty Mountains song I think of 5FDP's version of Bad Company

Can't wait. I had no interest in LOTR when it came out but when I met my old lady she loved em and I checked em out. All epic...can't be bad.

They also visit through Dain's cavern in this one(which is one of Gimli's cousins or second cousins or something).

When they visit the Mirkwood and meet Thranduil, they wrote in scenes for Legolas.

Not sure if I like that, I mean sure it can work considering how Elves age but do we really need more of Orlando Bloom ?

I think peter jackson is going to add a significant amount more of the story then what is told in hobbit. specifically gandalf finding thrain II in the dungeons of dol guldor and the discovery of saurons return, the formation of the white council, and gandalf driving sauron away from dol guldor during the company's trek through the old forest to erorber.
I'm expecting a minimum of 6 hours of movie from this knowing Jackson, with only 300 pages to work with, he will add a lot.

I was talking to a friend of Mine about Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood being shown in the trailer there. Hopefully the reason they are there is so Bilbo can begin the movie from the scene after Frodo gets stabbed and they bring him to Rivendale to be healed by Elrond where they meet up with Bilbo. I'm thinking it's this scene where Bilbo tells Frodo his story concerning the ring as a cautionary tale which is where the movie jumps. Otherwise I see no way for Frodo to be involved as he's much too young(Fellowship starting with Bilbo's eleventieth birthday).
As for Legolas I don't think I like the idea of him being written into a story he was never mentioned in just because the story is already one of the greatest of all time on it's own merit without doubling back on characters. We're going to have a new sort of "fellowship" brought to us already in the various acquaintances to reclaim the mountain Smaug occupies.

Yea, but with two movies and a bunch of unused stuff from the original stories I don't see why not. This is as much a creative effort on Peter Jackson's part as it is an adherence to the old.
