Saw the main event from rnd 5 on.
Good scrap, iffy point deductions. Not terrible, no question Khan was pushing, and as Peterson said post fight, holding Lamon'ts head down as well, but they were iffy because a)never a formal warning, b)ref's never take point deductions for pushing. I could more easily forgive b) if a) had taken place. Cause in truth I wish ref's would do more to stop all the excessive holding, head holding etc that goes i the ring, actions which almost always are used to keep a fighter from working on the inside, and I that bothers the heck out of me.
So iffy point deductions, but not terrible, and with a split decision with both of Peterson's cards being by a margin of one point, they were very costly, no question there. (I did not see the knockdown early which was also said to be iffy).
I liked Merchant and Kellerman working together. Old legend, with the heir apparent. I thought they blended very well, and so much better then having Roy Jones in there. Was this the first time they both worked the same fight?
