when did Ryan Jimmo sign with UFC?

UFC officials today announced a pair of new fights for UFC on FX 1, as
Mike Brown (25-8 MMA, 1-3 UFC) vs. Vagner Rocha (7-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and
Ryan Jimmo (16-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs. Karlos Vemola (8-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) will
each take place at the Jan. 20 event.

I would have thought this signing would have been news? Jimmo has been a LHW prospect for awhile now. Last I remembered he was putting on a shit fight vs Soko.

Jimmo should beat Vermola easy.

Looking on Twitter and MMA sites, this just came out of no where today? I don't even remember seeing rumors of Jimmo in the UFC? Just kind of surprised.

Vemola takes to being hit worse than Lesnar does, this should be an easy quick win for Jimmo.

Sure you aren't thinking of Ricardo Romero? Vemola might be a muscle head with overrated wrestling but I don't recall him being a dude who just wilts to strikes. He should win this fight IMO

I think Jimmo is decent but the fact that he had an ugly fight with Soko last time out is a little troubling. Everybody squashes him nowadays

Sokoudjou is still one of the best fighters i've ever seen inside the first 5 minutes of a fight.

Vemola is a good match for him though, someone like him or Soszynski, or Luiz Cane.

lol, i remember when Luiz Cane was in the top 10 and everybody was stoked not long ago...now he's the feeder fight for guys who arent that good.

I think Cane is trying to drop to 185. Less good strikers there who can punch him in the face

Top MMA News has learned that
Ryan Jimmo will be unable to make his UFC debut in Nashville next week.
Jimmo suffered an injury to his right ankle while training and is unable
to fight.
Ryan (16-1) was due to face Karlos Vemola on the UFC on FX 1 card on
January 20th. There is no word on a replacement for Vemola (8-2) who
would be fighting his fourth UFC fight.

A light heavyweight matchup between UFC newcomer Ryan Jimmo (16-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Australian veteran Anthony Perosh (13-6 MMA, 3-3 UFC) is the latest addition to the UFC's first-ever event in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Canada's Sportsnet first reported the bout, and the UFC's Canadian Twitter account subsequently confirmed the addition to the UFC 149 lineup.

UFC 149 takes place July 21 at Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome. The main card airs on pay-per-view, and FX and Facebook are expected to carry the prelims.

Jimmo vs. Perosh's position on the card was not revealed.
