You really think Luis Gaudinot or John Linker stands a chance against this guy?

Somdet was the hyped name back when flyweight was mysterious but he has 0 takedown defense and his KO power isn't there. He is also small at 125. He isn't in the weight class and would get crushed by wrestlers in the UFC.

And spare me lip about not watching him fight, I posted on this dude while we were still at ESPN and saw his whole career years ago. He's only had one fight a year for the last like three years. No, this dude isn't a top ten flyweight in 2012.

You heard about this guy from me probably GDP. And Louis has been a hyped fucking prospect for years(I also posted about him in 2010) and is much more well rounded and fits this division better. Somdet doesn't have good wrestling, is 37, doesn't hit hard. He just isn't a good match up for modern flyweights. I like the fighter for sure, number 1 straw weight, but there is no case for him to be ranked at 125. Useless would beat him in a rematch, he'd lose again to Darren Uyenoyama. I bet he would lose to several of the good TPF guys too. He's too small, doesn't hit hard enough, not good enough wrestling.

I appreciate you guys trying to keep the anti-Zuffa monopoly, Pride spirit alive, but this is a flawed ranking. Somdet just isn't in this conversation anymore.

Too small yet all of the opponents he has beaten since back in the sport have been fighters who are staples of divisions with limits at 120, 123, 125 and 135. If he is too small why does he keep beating all theses fighters bigger than him?

He just dropped down to 125 in the UFC, actually. Somdet hasn't had a relevant fight at 125 since Chuck Liddell was a ranked LHW. I can't find for sure the weight of his last fight, but if that one wasn't a 125 then he hasn't even fought in the weight class since 2008. I had this discussion with one of the editors over at BE years ago when I first posted about this stuff. Somdet isn't in the weight class dude.

Whoever negged this is acting like a certified queer. GDP? You mad? Uyenoyama isn't a 125'r and hasn't been for months. He was the fighter Tim Elliot replaced against Dodson. Somdet isn't even in this weight class, and if he were, he wouldn't be competitive against modern flys. Learn your shit before you come talk noise at me. We either got niggas who don't know who the fuck Jon Dodson is, or still think Somdet is relevant. Either the division started with Tachi in 2011 or is still stuck in Shooto in 2007. The fuck?
