PostSubject: Too technical?   Too technical? EmptySun Oct 25, 2009 12:24 pm

Does anyone else think that Shogun's gameplan was just too technical for the shitty judges to see that he was doing the more significant damage while Machida had more volume? I was so impressed at how he went after Machida when Machida came forward and attacked, but maybe they saw the combinations thrown by Machida as more devastating than they were. I just can't figure it out and I'm trying to find excuses for them. I rewatched it, and there was no change from what I originally saw, Shogun won every round but the 3rd to me. I just hope there will be interviews with those referees soon so they can explain what it is that they saw.

Not only did Shogun inflict more damage but he landed more strikes as well.

I just read somewhere that Shogun actually landed more strikes in every single round. If that's the case, then this was a bigger robbery than I even thought. Definitely can't wait for the compustrike numbers to come out.

No, because i think the technical style is what was causing Machida problems. His usual style probably would have favored Lyoto.

I think technical was exactly what Shogun needed to win the fight. His gameplan was great and its a shame the judges didnt realize how great it was.

Shogun did exactly what he needed to do to win... and he deserved the win.

Rua was mad good on Saturday. But it was a really good fight and I appreciate that DW saw it like we did and wants to set up a rematch right away.

I'm still blown away by the incompetence shown by the judges.

Yeah, now that I've read what Peoples saw, I realize he's dumber than I ever imagined. I always thought he just literally missed certain things that fighters were doing, but it turns out he sees them and doesn't understand how they should be scored. He's seriously retarded, and he needs to be fired. Plain and simple.

I was hoping RUA would have followed up the leg kick with a 1,2. I think that would have gone along way in showing aggressiveness and control
