Who won?

I've scored the last two fights for Marquez, IMO he should be 2-1 against Manny.

I personally had it a draw while watching it live but I think alot of this is because Marquez did so well compared to how people thought he would do. It's hard to give the fight to the guy who spent most of it stepping back while getting out thrown, out landed, and walked down for twelve rounds. There's something to be said for how well he was countering Manny but in the end he got outlanded by over a hundred and thirty strikes overall and was backing up the whole time. Without Manny coming forward there isn't a fight at all to be honest.

compubox suggests manny landed 30 more punches than marquez but after watching the fight one has to assume that includes anything that glanced off his gloves or his shoulders. the only reason to give manny that fight is if you live by the old addage that the challenger has to win decisively and anything close should therefore go to the champ. that is not how rounds should be scored however.

all the quality shots came from JMM and manny didn't do enough to get any marks for aggression or ring generalship imo. it is interesting how everyone you talk to seems to have judged it differently though.

But that always seems to be the case in close fights, and that's why I never get upset over close decisions, this one included.

ya know what else I didn't like besides the clear Lederman bias, was Stewart saying how much bigger and stronger Manny looked. I thought Marquez looked stronger through the trunk.

But Lederman was more annoying, he was talking manny up from the beggining, and even when his scorecard was 115-113 or whatever, he was still talking as though Manny was in complete control.
