| http://mmajunkie.com/news/26016/fuel-tv-to-become-ufc-programming-hub-2012-prelims-moving-off-facebook.mmaFUEL TV will have a bigger UFC presence than initially expected. In fact FUEL TV general manager George Greenberg today told MMAjunkie.com ( www.mmajunkie.com) on a media call with company executives that that the FOX-owned cable station will have approximately 25 percent of its content devoted to the UFC beginning in 2012. Additionally, the channel, which currently is available only in about 26 million homes, will be the new home for prelims that currently stream on Facebook. Also, as part of the seven-year FOX-UFC deal that officially kicks off in 2012, all of the two-fight "UFC Prelims" special that currently air on Spike TV (after Facebook prelims and prior to pay-per-view events) instead will be shifted to FOX-owned FX. Both Spike TV and FX are available in approximately 100 million homes. In other words, instead of an event airing/streaming on Facebook then Spike TV and then PPV, it'll air on FUEL TV, then FX and then PPV. Facebook, which became the home for previously untelevised prelim fights earlier this year, won't stream any live bouts in 2012. In addition to the prelim fights, FUEL TV will feature weigh-in specials (including Friday's for Saturday's UFC on FOX one-hour "teaser" event), "Countdown" and "Primetime" shows, past fights and other specialty programming. Additionally, it'll likely air upcoming international editions of "The Ultimate Fighter" reality series (while the regular version of the show moves from Spike TV to FX). However, though officials initially suggested the channel wouldn't air live events, UFC and FOX executives today said non-PPV overseas events will air live on FUEL TV, as well. Officials said the FUEL TV events will run approximately three hours, live events on FX will run two hours, and the four annual shows on the FOX network are expected to run 90 minutes. | |

- Though very low in comparison to what we’ve become accustomed to
seeing from UFC related programming on other networks, these were in fact good ratings for Fuel, far exceeding the 18,000 viewers that had tuned in during their primetime programming the previous weekend.
There’s several reasons behind the low figures. For one there was more than likely a lack of awareness from many fans that there even was shoulder programming to the main event available on Fuel TV.
Even if you did know about it you may still have found difficulty in finding it since Fuel TV is currently only available in around 30 million homes, less than a third of the reach that better known channels such as Spike TV and FX enjoy.
Finally, the pre-fight show was taking place at the same time as the preliminary fights were airing on Facebook and FoxSports.com, so many hardcore fans who may have been tempted to watch the show are more likely to have been tuned in to that instead.
Despite the low figures Fuel TV is set to be a channel that’s going to be hugely important for UFC fans in the coming year as they plan to devote 25% of their schedule to delivering programming from the sport’s leading promotion.

| Much better then they usually get but not many places have it. There numbers would be much better if the channel was available in more areas | |

| Fuel TV is available in 26 million homes in over 100 countries, but it is still really obscure. If you have Fuel as part of your channel line-up, it is likely one of over 150 channels in your service. Of all the things people could be watching though out of 100 to 200 cable channels combined with network channels, 83,000 isn't to bad I would think. | |

| If u like sports, u have to have directv.
But I had no idea their was a pre and post fight being aired. It will take time, but those #'s will go up.
and when u compare 83K for a prefight, to Bellators 240K for live action, the 83K is not bad. | |
