UFC 138 weigh ins, guess who is 1lb over? lol

BIRMINGHAM, England –
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) was on scene and reporting live from today's official UFC 138 fighter weigh-ins.

Today's festivities took place at Community Hall in National Indoor
Arena in Birmingham, England. Headliners Mark Munoz and Chris Leben were
among the 20 fighters hitting the scale.

All fighters made weight with the exception of main-card fighter Thiago
Alves, a fighter who's missed weight twice in the past. Today, he came
in a pound heavy on his first attempt.

Alves has additional time to cut the needed pound.

The nearby LG Arena plays host to Saturday's event, which airs via
same-day delay on Spike TV in the U.S. (and live in other countries).
Additionally, the prelims stream live on Facebook.

Only 1lb it's possible that the scale he was using was just slightly off.

I wouldn't put too much into this, if he lost it within the time and was only a pound over to begin with I give him the benefit of the doubt. With the irregularity between scales and we've seen it before. At least he lost the pound this time like he said he couldn't the second time with Fitch.

This was the issue. Mike Dolce said he had weighed between 169 and 171lbs on four other scales before he was officially weighed and they were all shoked. He took a piss and went in the sauna and came back out and made the weight 40 minutes later.
Not a big deal imo. Alves is one of the bigger WW's and the fact that he shed all the weight needed in time hows he is committed and ready to go. Dolce said he looked good and it wasn't a bad cut so I think Alves should be ready to go.

I don't know jack about this guy he is fighting though. A win over Alves will have this guy thrown into the title hunt even if it is his first win by beating Thiago. I still consider Alves one of the top 170 pounders in the UFC.
