| I also think it's bunk how often we hear how big a WW he is. Not on GSP, but on Rogan and Gold I guess, UFC hype machine as a whole might be more appropriate, and they say that shit about so many guys, and then the guy moves down in weight.
Heard that shit ad nauseum with Nate.

He doesn't owe the fans shit, he needs to do what is best for him as a fighter and that is fighting at his OPTIMUM WEIGHT! The weight that allows him to compete at the highest level.
That's all fine, and I agree it's on him wether he moves up for a huge fight or not. But dude, tell your coach to keep mum on moving DOWN in weight. That's what guys on losing streaks do, not dominant champs. Two time divisional Champ is the same no matter what for me. BJ won the WW title before the LW title and I think Randy won the HW Championship before the LHW Championship. Yeah I know they are different situations but still. UFC Championships in 2 divisions is impressive no matter how it comes.

Not at all. I would think Maynard is heavier than 172lbs at his normal weight though. He is a pretty big LW. I was thinking upper 170's to low 180's for maynard. Cutting 17lbs for a professional is nothing. It gets harder and harder to cut the smaller guys are. I bet there aren't that many guys who are bigger than Gray cutting to 155.
