| Following his UFC 100 knockout victory over Michael Bisping, Dan Henderson found himself in a rare spot for fighters: coming off a UFC win without any contracted fights left. While UFC officials may have thought a new deal easily could be reached, the two sides apparently have very different opinions regarding what the 39-year-old fighter's services are worth. But Henderson (25-7 MMA, 5-2 UFC), who earned a base pay of $250,000 ($150,00 of which was a win bonus) for the Bisping win, recently told HDNet's "Inside MMA" that he won't be heading to a rival organization. "I don't plan on fighting anywhere else," said Henderson, who reportedly met with Strikeforce officials. "It never even entered my mind that I'd be anywhere else. It's just something myself, Dana (White) and the other guys over there at the UFC, we need to sit down and figure it out for my next fight." Before and after Henderson's win over Bisping in July, White said the former PRIDE champion would likely be the next to challenge for Anderson Silva's middleweight belt. But Silva, who defeated Henderson via second-round submission in March 2008, and his camp have expressed disinterest in a rematch. Silva, meanwhile, is expected to fight Vitor Belfort at UFC 108 in January. Henderson hinted a fight with Nate Marquardt, a fellow top contender who's also suffered a previous loss to Silva, could be next. "It doesn't look like it'll be him," Henderson said of Silva. "But my guess is my next two fights will be Marquardt and Anderson Silva. It doesn't matter to me which order they're in." Check out the embedded clip for the full conversation. http://mmajunkie.com/news/16538/dan-henderson-expects-to-re-sign-with-ufc-could-meet-nate-marquardt-next.mma | |

| Hmmm...after watching that video I think it is a few weeks old. Maybe MMAJunkie is reporting old stuff or maybe they know something we don't and just reporting what is going to happen using an older vid. | |

| Yeah i think thats old. I remember Sherdog reporting the same thing a few weeks ago when talks with UFC first stalled. Hendo said pretty much the same thing.
I personally would be happy eitheir way. There is a lot for Hendo to do in both orgs as MW is Strikeforce deepest division, and they also have Gegard and King Mo.
I think Henderson will go back to UFC. I think it's just a holdout right now. He says he will be at the November 7th card to see how Strikeforce is ran, so i don't think we'll hear anything about Hendo signing anywhere for about a month.

Assuming makes an ass out of you and your fat girlfriend. Nigga But they have already let it come this far, to the point where Hendo has sat down and discussed $$$ with sf, supposedly he will be at the cbs event. And maybe sf thinks that this is a good oppurtunity to steal a big name guy. Maybe they overpay a little. One can be sure a ppv is coming up and a gegard hendo fight would be a fantastic #2 fight.

| Uhhh the only way Mousasi v Hendo is a #2 fight is if they get Overeem to fight Fedor, but that is the ONLY fight worthy or being the main over a Hendo v Mousasi and even then I might disagree. | |

Of coarse I meant Fedor, who would obviously be on any sf ppv, and I can't see him not getting top billing no matter who he fights. But you validate my main point, that it might be worth overpayin Hendo to get him on a ppv.

| UFC should pay him 500 k and put him in a headlining fight against Nate Marquardt on spike tv or even on a ppv view maybe ufc 108 on the same card as Anderson is supossedly fighting Vitor. Is that even happening any more? | |

| I agree with Oggy. Besides I have said it once and I will say it again after he and Mousasi fights, who is there really left to fight? No one is the correct answer. | |

Mo, Le maybe, Lawler, Nick maybe, Kennedy is out there. Certainly guys that are on par with Bisping and Palhares. and don't forget sf's roster continues to grow.

| I can't believe someone thinks Babalu is worth that much after his last match. Mo would get killed, Lawler too, nick would make it interesting until he got caught. I mean you guys are REALLY reaching. Fedor BTW is a HW Hendo fights in MW and LHW. | |

He is coming off a fight vs Bisping. But now he's too good to even think about fighting Lawler? And Mo is a guy who splits time at hwy, he would be a legit challenger to Hendo who spends alot of time at 185.

| Yeah, i would not be quick to put Bisping ahead of Babalu, Lawler, Diaz. That's just brand hugging right there. I would pick Bisping to lose to all of the above. New Dana White interview on the situation. http://www.mmascraps.com/2009/10/dana-white-negotiations-with-dan.htmlHe said there are no more negotiations with Dan. Holdouts are pretty shitty. No matter where he goes it's going to be awhile before we see him again. | |

| Not saying Bisping is good, but Lawler and Babalu are overrated, those fights would be 50/50 | |

Overrated? Yes. As overrated as Bisping? no. Lawler, maybe 50/50 if it turns into a position battle, but Babalu finishes him. Bisping has never beaten anybody worth noting IMO. I saw the fight with Hamill and refuse to give it to him and even his snoozefest with Rashad was not nearly as close as the judges made it seem. How was that a split? Point being, RaiderKing would be acting like guys like Lawler and Babalu would be slap in the face to Dan Henderson when these guys are good fighters and would be interesting matchups for him, especially after Mousasi beats him
