Hell for what I hear, at one point the players could have signed for 52%. I know that 51% was out there at one point.

| See there's alot of this I obviously am late hearing about I've kinda ignored this Lockout cause the nfl pissed me off to and I was just really hoping that this one wouldn't be a big deal and it would just get taken care of. But that's crazy that they were getting 57% but all that does is piss me off more cause the owners offered 52% that's fucking 5% that they wanted, the players should've accepted that and been happy their all greedy bastards if you ask me and I'm sticking to my opinion of release all them fuckers. | |

Well as a fan of a young team that made it to the Western Conference Finals that is only getting better, I want to see them play.

| players were never offered 52%
the players were offered 51 but most likely 50%, but their issue was not the BRI, it was the system issues that they want tweaked and the owners aren't hearing it... at ALL
and MJs bitch ass is being one of the worst owners out there
back in 1998 when the lockout was going on he told the wizard owner if he can't break even to sell the team.... WHOOPS! IDIOT!

| After the terrible play of my lakers in the playoffs last year I was really looking forward to this next season, but unless these talks today produce a deal then I'm pretty much done with and no longer a fan of any of these great players that are claiming that giving up 5 to 7% is to much of their money | |

Well Jordan's franchise is one of the ones losing money, also Jordan doesn't give a fuck about current players so that should surprise no one. I'm not sure about 52% on the table early on but I know it was talked about alot and I'm not sure it wasn't on the table at one point. Most people have slightly less sympathy for the billionaires then the millionaires, but from all reports out there the players are being greedy.

| Some of the other issues are the owners want to have the ability to payoff or buyout their worst contracts currently on roster without it going toward the cap. So it pisses the players off because they are complaining about money but then they are talking about paying 50 million to a player to clear out cap space. They are looking to get a franchise tag like the NFL since small market teams think it is unfair that their high profile players can just leave for bigger markets when their contracts are up. | |

| http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-wojnarowski_nba_lockout_110911NEW YORK – After several days of NBA ultimatums and threats, owners and players made significant progress toward a collective bargaining agreement that would end the lockout, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. With the Players Association agreeable to a 50-50 split of revenue, the sides also made progress on three of the five system issues that union officials said needed to be resolved to complete a deal, sources said. The players are determined to keep system issues which allow them freedom to move to luxury-tax teams, among other issues involving the tax and escrow systems. | |

MMA Im generally with the owners on this also but to look at it from the players point of view for a minute they were already getting 57% so when the owners come and say take 50% now thats a HUGE drop. The players dont have any real leverage so they have got to stick together. That 7% is Billions of dollars. They have got to fight for everything they can KEEP because they arent gaining anything in this deal. I think it maybe time to start talking about eliminating a few teams.

I agree that it's taking a hit for the players on the 7%, I'm not going into the "system issues" cause half these stories don't even tell you what the fuck they are so I'm going by what they are telling us, but yeah that 7% is a hit but the system was obviously not working cause the owners were going under, so sorry top players you might only be able to have 3 huges houses with 20 cars at each one that each alone cost more than any of our homes, cry me a fucking river.

| The players have already lost...now they are just rubbing salt into their own wounds.
They'll be masturbating at the thought of a 50-50 split when it's all said and done...because they'll end up with nothing near that. I feel sorry for the rookies who left college early to not make any money anytime in the forseeable future.
