Major boxing controversy

Mares vs Abegko.

Low blows by Mares all night. a dozen at least. The showtime announcers are all over it.. Barely a warning, zero point deductions, AND a clear low blow that the ref calls a knockdown. Awful referring that showtime is out there talking about for 9 rnds, and it got worse and worse. Agbeko is pissed post fight.

The ref gets the first interview of the night and Jim Grey RIPPPPSSSS into the ref. Not one punch pulled, Grey lit the ref up. Complete with a clear replay of the terrible low blow knock down call. Offering the reg a 2nd viewing after the ref tries to talk his way out of it.


Agbeko's team files a an official protest.


In the fight in my eyes, Mares came out strong in the first 3 rnds, scoring a semi slip but legit knock down in either the 2nd or 3rd. But Agbeko controlled the fight from that point on. How do I score it? It's too fucking confusing AND pointless considering the unwarranted knockdown, and the points that should have been deducted.


A possibly good fight ruined.

I'm not a fan of ball shots. Not at all. It's just.not fun..

and yes..these constant low blows with no warning is turrble

in round 12 now...damn, this ref should be investigated or something. This is horrible.

Yeah there were a ton of ball shots and it definitely took away from what should have been a great fight.

yeah it was sad. took alot away from the fight. on other news kimbo won his boxing debut within 20 seconds. if you guys catch the video on youtube it seems to be a sweet uppercut landed

just watched it, Kimbo hype still lives as the crowd was electric after the KO.

Kimbo could do OK in that sport given:

1)no one will try to kick his legs out

2)no one will try to put him on his back

3)the hwy landscape.


Im glad kimbo is actually out there training and fighting and not just lazing out smoking blunts.

The ref was either paid or the ref is the biggest non seeing idiot in sports history. I mean he says the shots looked legal to him but I honestly can't see how he could've seen it that way. If he wasn't paid he shouldn't just be fired whoever hired him should be fired and whoever hired that fuckin guy should be fired! In fact the motherfucker needs glasses if he isn't lying, if he's wearing contacts he should sue his eye doctor! I don't even know how many low blows it was over 20 and the last one was right on the cup right infront of the ref and he called it a legal knockdown. Worst ref job EVER! I've never seen a ref play such a big part in a fight
