Judge declares mistrial in Clemens perjury case
WASHINGTON -- The judge presiding over Roger Clemens' perjury trial declared a mistrial over inadmissible evidence shown to jurors.U.S.
District Judge Reggie Walton said Clemens could not be assured a fair
trial after prosecutors showed jurors evidence against his orders in the
second day of testimony. He will hear a motion on whether a new
trial would be considered double jeopardy. Rusty Hardin, Clemens'
attorney, said he needs until July 29 to file the motion for the
double-jeopardy hearing. The prosecution has until Aug. 2 to respond and
the hearing would take place Sept. 2.

They are saying this could possibly be over. It was a major fuck up.

very doubtful, more than likely, and by that I mean like 99 percent chance they will just have to choose a new jury and start all over and waste some more of Clemens money

this looks likely since they have already said they will reconvene at the end of August

Yeah more then likely they will still go through with this. But I think they are saying September and not August. Still they are saying the actual trial might not start until next year now. Something seems fishy here, no way the prosecutor can really be that fucking stupid. After repeated warnings they just ignore what the judge says? Something weird happened or these morons should be demoted to the mail room.

An awful lot of stories about double jeopardy coming out for me to think its more than likely they are just going to choose a new jury and start over

Yeah they are saying that once the first witness is called is when you have this double jeopardy come into play and this already had 3-4 witness called to the stand. Possible this doesn't make it back to court.

Good it is fucking ridiculous anyway, the government with all the other shit that is going on in this country wants to make an example of someone who played baseball and obviously took roids, he has been a total jackass about the whole thing and I in no way support him, he was sure fire hall of fame until this, let him limp away like you let Bonds limp away cause apparently the government sucks at these perjury cases when it comes to ex ball players
