How is Dana going to get in trouble for talking shit about an official? This isn't like other sports where a coach would get fined by the league for such comments. Dana is running the show and doesn't work for anybody

I didnt say he will get in trouble I just dont think its a good idea for him to publicly blast refs like that. Just dont know what it proves.

Usually it's not a good idea but Steve Mazzagatti deserves all the heat that he gets. He is an awful referee.

i still don't think he's all that bad...atleast not so bad that Dana White needs to publicly put him on blast every chance he gets.

Also, nobody was making "uh OH!" threads regarding Mazzagatti before Dana started ripping into him...people just jumped on the bandwagon and hug duh nutz without having an established opinion of Steve before then...i never ranked him with guys like Dean and Big John but i definetly never considered him this horrible ref that deserves similar reaction that one would have to Cecil Peoples judging.

It's personal and it probably has all to do with Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir I.

well bobbitt, i'm glad my fairness and logic to situations such as this are so constant it's become predictable. It's the truth as well, because i was around before Dana started tearing into this guy and nobody ever bitched about Steve Mazzagatti.

Umm I have always said he is bad I just like his sayings and his awkwardness in the octagon. I didn't jump on any bandwagon Steve likes to end fights early we have all seen it before. Another bad one is Yves Lavigne. IMO 1. Josh Rosenthal 2. Herb Dean. Are the best.

I agree as well that he fucked up in the Lesnar-Mir fight...and i believe it was Maz who almost let Hamill get murdered vs. Bones but my point is, overall he does not make any more bad calls, bad stoppages, bad non-stoppages than somebody like Big Dan.

Then you see guys like Jon Schorle(sp?) and it really puts it into perspective that relative to most MMA officials..disregarding the really reputed good guys like Big John and Herb Dean..or the lower key good guys like Mario Yamasaki and Jason Herzog he's not enough of a stand out as a poor ref for Dana's constant ripping of him to be taken as anything but personal and it's more than likely fueled by an isolated blunder rather than culminative fuck ups..me thinks it was Brock/Mir
