On ESPN all day today they have been doing a poll and it is........If T.O had to retire today is he a first ballot Hall of Famer? What do u guys think?

| The arguement against it was that he tore 3 seperate teams apart and for all the good he did on the field he was equally as bad in the locker room and with some of his off the field antics. | |

| This is the question I think about, is TO 1337 like these other guys who are 1st year of eligibility inductees? The list is short and 1337:
Steve Young Rod Woodson Reggie White Paul Warfield Gene Upshaw Johnny Unitas Lawrence Taylor Roger Staubach Bart Starr O. J. Simpson Mike Singletary Emmitt Smith Bruce Smith Shannon Sharpe Gale Sayers Deion Sanders Barry Sanders Jerry Rice Walter Payton Jim Otto Dan Marino Gino Marchetti Ronnie Lott Warren Moon Joe Montana Jack Lamber Jim Kelly Deacon Jones Franco Harris Joe Greene Darrell Green Eric Dickerson Tony Dorsett John Elway Marshall Faulk Earl Campbell Dick Butkus Jim Brown Terry Bradshaw George Blanda Raymond Berry Marcus Allen Troy Aikman
I think TO is 1337 and would not be surprised if he is first year inducted, but I don't think he is best of the best and could see a guy like Harrison or Holt with their jewelry in this same ear being inducted before him. A lot has to play out from other players also, others in this year or time frame who are without question 1st year guys could go down or retire and then there is the other players past their first year who will receive consideration. Wide outs like Brown and Carter are still waiting for their inductions along with some others I'm not thinking of also. I just don't consider TO cumulatively to be on that Ronnie Lott or Tony Dorsett level as a hall of famer. He is HoF material no doubt though.

| Easily 1st ballot...not worthy of debate. Only a LeBron James fan would bring it to a poll.
He shall be retired a San Francisco 49er when he's done.

He shall be retired a San Francisco 49er when he's done. Chris Carter wasnt a 1st ballot guy so I dont think T.O is a slam dunk to get in 1st ballot either.

| If people got in the NFL HoF based on numbers alone he is first year. They don't, past coaches, players and journalists decide based on a wide variety of things. It's not hard to imagine TO not getting in on the first try or the first few years. | |

| The wide receiver that ranks 2nd all-time in yards and TDs not getting in on the first ballot would be laughable | |

Chris Carter wasnt a 1st ballot guy so I dont think T.O is a slam dunk to get in 1st ballot either. two wrongs don't make a right...he would have made it the secon time if not for JERRY FUCKIN RICE and not to mention Tim Brown

Others have been snubbed if coaches, media, and other players dont care for them.

| If Cris Carter can't be 1st ballot, TO shouldn't be first ballet. But honestly it is a joke Carter wasn't voted 1st ballot and both men deserving of 1st ballot. | |

Others have been snubbed if coaches, media, and other players dont care for them. Which is why the respective HOFs are all viewed as a joke at this point
