Why wouldn't he take the fight?
-it is an easier fight
-he's already trained for a fight
-he has a chance of getting even more $$ with bonuses
-he gets to headline
-if he wins then he's one win closer to bigger fights, a title, and his next contract
-it earns him goodwill with the big wigs in the UFC

He isn't the headline anymore but I get your point. Definitely better to take the fight and keep the good impression with the brass when you're hoping to be like 2 wins from a title shot

cause this fight is the quintessential lose-lose

if he wins, its Brennam big fucking deal

if he loses, know that would be a big blow.

especially when you were already gonna get paid.
