| Why not Mendes if they're giving Skinny Florian the title shot.
IF they want to keep the top guys away from each other (Mendes, Skinny, & Hioki) then I say Poirer.

| Hioki said he wants no less than two fights in a cage first. They should give him a mid level guy first. Japanese guys need baby steps | |

| When you're ranked #2 in the world you shouldn't be given mid level fights. Give him 1 top end warm up fight then a title shot if he wins. Very similar to what Shields did. | |

| rankings mean shit when you make your UFC debut as a Japanese national who spent all your career fighting undersized Judokas in a ring. He isn't close to the second best FW in the world and I am so over playing make believe with Japanese promotions and their fighters. Pride = dead and not coming back. | |

| Tooling Marlon Sandro over 5 rounds though raises your stock a lot more than some fights with Kanehara, Omigawa, etc. Plus 2 victories over Hominick. This guy is legitimate. | |

It's true, way to many cases to overlook it, but Hioki does have a better chance then most. I still would give him the right matchups at first, that's why I like Roop personally. You know don't bring in Omigawa and give him Mendes or the same with Hioki, bring in Kid give him Mighty Mouse, Gomi/KenFlo, ect...Let them get used to fighting in the States first IMO. I used to get shit on for saying it, but too many Jap fighters (Nationals and fighters fighting in Japan) come over and struggle, some don't, or some start slow, but overall they struggle. I think Hioki will do well though.
