aint even the best player in Miami Sure he is. Without him they never beat Boston or Chicago but the hatred for him is so sick these days nobody gives him credit for anything they just look for ways to blast him.

| The Cavs team that made the finals that season had no business being there. They were terrible and LeBron drug them into the finals kicking and screaming. Check there starting 5 that season and tell me they should have beat the spurs lol? | |

Are you Udonis Haslem? He had an off series period. Tim, lets me show you a trend 2007 NBA Finals (slight break due to youth) 2008 Gold Medal game 4th quarter (Kobe and Wade stepped up, Bron disappeared) 2009 ECF Magic 2010 ECSF Celtics 2011 NBA Finals Everytime the lights get brighter, the game gets bigger, someone fades in the moment. It's the pressure, he had not pressure on him back in 2007 vs the Pistons, no one expected him to even come close to beating them, but when expectations get high, somethings seems to change. Not every player has "it"...

| my belated thoughts.
Dirk was awesome throughout. some guys might say, "he had multiple off shooting nights, therefore he had a bad series" but truth of the matter is, when u are the teams best player u need to work your way through those droughts, and u need to score pts, he did. His play in the clutch, his ft's(trule incredible), his 3 pt shooting, and even his passing was fantastic.
At the heart of his series play was the fact that the guy who was as focused as anyone ive seen on the b-ball court. When Miami was over there goofing around like they won something in game 2, Dirk just kept playing. Game after game he led comebacks. From 1-0 down in the series, down 2-1 in the series, up 3-2, battling through off shooting nights, through bad fingers, through sickness. Dude was driven. An all time great finals showing by Dirk.
Obviously Jet was huge in the clincher, he and JJ both showed signs in the previous game and both played really well in game 6. Chandler was key playing D, grabbing boards, and drawing more loose ball fouls then I have ever seen throughout the series. I though Kidd was along for the ride a bit, but he did hit big shots, and maybe Im overlooking this a bit, but he prob helped instill a mental toughness on the team. My bro thought maybe he'd retire after winning this, but Kidd said 2-3 more years, pretty interesting. Also interesting is adding Butler to the mix.
As far as the Heat. It's all about Lebron. Wade did his thing, Bosh did his thing, I thought they got decent play from their role players like Haslem, and Chalmers(though Mike Miller stunk), but where was Bron? I don't think I've ever seen a superstar player shrink so much in the finals. Terrible terrible series for Bron, and one that he will hear about until he actually wins one. And considering that this series showed a mental weakness in Bron, this could def compound the problem.
On the other hand, this guy is still younger then Jordan when he won his first, and most thought the Heat were not really built for this year, they would have to build around the big 3 core, and that would take a couple years. For all his memorable failure's the guy has been in and around the championship round most of his career. Was he soft in the 2011 finals? no doubt, but(as tim alluded to) people were calling Dirk soft about a weak ago. People were questioning Jordan till he notched his first, JKidd didn't win a ring till he was not much more then a role player. So the story is not done on him yet. It's a HUGE story, and either way, it will continue to be one, but no one can say for sure how it ends. Plenty of time left to redeem himself.

| Finals ratings dropped from 10.6 last year to 10.2 this year.
Not a big drop, but thank god, Lakers/Celtics is two all-time great franchises. Mavs are cool no problem with them, but it would be sad if the Beat drove the ratings up.
