Reason I bring that up is although Nick's boxing is better then GSP's, and he finished some strikers lately, he wasn't fearing the takedown. With GSP Nick will have to be aware of it, and adjust his striking style a bit (he won't though), because he is an easy guy to takedown the way he stands and boxes. This should benefit GSP on the feet like it has for years. I'm sure he'll take Nick down often, but his wrestling should be able to setup his striking like past fights.
GSP by wrestling domination none the less Plus Shamrock's knees are way shot. He was not nearly the takedown threat at that point and didnt want to be. I'm not worried about the takedown for Diaz. I don't think he'll lose the fight because of that. I thought Diaz vs. wrestlers was kind of an overrated criticism. If anything, Diaz welcomes the takedown(more so nowadays rather than back then) and his losses in the UFC arent all contributable to being outwrestled. Hell, i remember seeing Sherk was like 2-21 in takedown attempts vs. Diaz and i thought Diaz kind of won that fight. Karo aint no wrestler...and Diego just flat out beat him everywhere. It was not about being a wrestler. Can't speak on Riggs...didnt see that one. but i do expect GSP to play the points game better and win the fight. I think he'll do a lot of stand up in this fight. I don't think Diaz will be able to turn up the volume like he did against all the guys that were so afraid of Diaz on the mat that they had no choice but to stand and bang with him. That fact that GSP strikes for points and not the finish seperates him from all of Diaz's recent opponents and GSP has such deserved confidence and ability in his top game that Diaz will have to be more reserved because he knows GSP is not going to stand there and take it if Diaz starts winning the exchanges...althought GSP as shown in the Shields fight gets rattled when he gets hit and it threw him off his game. Diaz can lay it on a little thicker than Jake.

| I don't know about that interview...but on facebook GSP said Jake Shields is the best fighter he's ever faced period. Which i thought was very interesting. | |

| Nick is ironically a very clever fighter for a guy who comes off like a dumbass. Even with guys who can wrestle and control him he uses technique to get out of bad situations. Karo controlled him from what I remember, but it was a good competitive fight. I don't rememeber the Sherk fight at the moment so I can't comment on that. With GSP, it's more then just his wrestling edge, but also that he ain't no slouch on the ground either, and I personally can't see Nick catching him if GSP is content to hold him down. I'm looking forward to seeing this fight, cause from what I've seen from Nick recently his boxing stance is too square for a wrestler like GSP. At the same time I think GSP's striking is too stiff for a guy like Nick (while standing at least). I def think GSP wrestles him up to a dec, but Nick will be game. Good thoughts though, didn't know about Sherk's 2-21. | |

Technically GSP is the better boxer, his jab and footwork are impressive for a mixed martial artist. |

Maybe, but Freddie didn't exactly make Arlovski shine. GSP is a naturally gifted athlete, he probably spends endless hours shadowboxing and working with his striking coaches. |

| As for GSP's boxing, good jab, but thats it
Nick's striking still alot better, he'll get past that jab

- Nick and Nathan Diaz will be joining the camp of Olympic Gold Medalist, Andre Ward. Ward will be fighting in the finals of the "Super Six Tournament" against Carl Froch on the same night that Nick Diaz is set to fight UFC Champion, Georges St. Pierre. Nick and Andre have sparred infrequently for the past 10 years with each man acheiving immense success in their respective sport. This be the first time the two fighters collaborate to spar frequently in an official camp.
- Quote :
- "I know that Georges is training with Freddie Roach but I doubt he's sparring Pacquiao. Nick will be sparring frequently with Ward and I think it will help him tremendously."
Diaz will share camps with champ Andre Word for his upcoming bout against GSP

| George isn't used to people who are completely not intimidated by him. Nick is gonna get in his face, punch him in his face, and talk shit right in his face. I don't think George is as mentally tough as people think he is.
If jake shields could strike at all that would have been a bad day for gsp. His face was busted up from a few jabs. What do you think is gonna happen when Diaz is throwing 400 strikes a round or whatever he does?
I'll admit it, GSP has an obvious wrestling advantage, and wrestlers have historically done pretty well against Nick. Maybe He will lay on nick for a few rounds, but evetually he's gonna have to fight Nick on the feet and thats where i feel he is at a disadvantage. He's not gonna sub Nick. And GSP doesn't take enough risks to finish anyone anymore. That style just isn't going to work against Nick. Nick is going to make you fight him.

| and i'll say it if no one else will
GSP is not exciting to watch anymore. People love to watch Nick fight. Everyone of his fights are exciting and he is always trying to finish his opponent. You just can't say that about GSP. He is more than ok with coasting to a decision if he is ahead on the cards. And maybe im alone but im a little tired of it.

| I think pretty much everyone but the fanboys have said they aren't a fan of the way he fights now. Nick still stands an extremely low chance of winning | |
