| While I predicted that Johnson would use wrestling to win a decision and that Torres would be unable to submit the shorter, stronger and compact Johnson, I still think Torres was deep enough with some of those attempts and active enough to earn the decision. | |

| I thought Johnson won rounds 2 and 3. He outstruck Torres and controlled where the fight took place. As for the submission attempts from Torres, many of them were not even close and if Rogan wasn't stroking him the whole time, people may have seen that. Essentially, a lot of the time, imo, Torres was throwing up weak attempts without much of a setup in order to seem more active and initiate scrambles (which he did well on). Even from a bjj scoring standpoint, Johnson won. Here is a great article on that... http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/5/29/2196233/ufc-130-results-demetrious-johnson-vs-miguel-torres-judging-scoring-ibjjf-adcc | |

| The issue is the striking exchanges were so few and far between that most of the fight was DJ escaping from attempt after attempt, eating elbows and upkicks and being swept repeatedly. He mounted no offense. If you're defending an attack - you're losing.
I predicted the outcome but even with that I felt that because Johnson was on the defensive so much that he was unable to do anything to give him the victory. The other issue here is that Johnson is borderline unsubmittable with the mixture of skill and build that he brings to the table. These muscular stubby little wrestlers with good submission defense are almost impossible to submit. That said, Mighty Mouse was in trouble a few times.

I feel the same way. I thought Torres was awesome from his back and was doing more damage for the most part. Torres landed a shit ton of strikes from his back while mouse was just laying on him.

"If you're defending an attack you're losing." Although Mighty Mouse was on top alot, Torres was landing strikes and had some great sub attempts. IMO Mouse was losing the fight for the most part when he had top position. I want a rematch and a yellow card in the ref's pocket. Torres KO's DJ in a rematch if they stand for more then half of the fight.

| Torres' strikes from his back were ineffective though, causing no damage to Johnson. On their feet, Johnson put Torres on the defensive. Torres did do a great job from his back, but even in bjj, you do not want to be in that position. I would agree with you guys if Johnson was not passing Torres' guard and getting side control a few times, but he was and did. It was a close fight, razor close. But the day that anyone declares that fight a robbery, regardless of which way it went, is a day that poster must re-examine their objectivity. Im glad people on this board have used their heads with regard to this fight and giving objective opinions. Some other sites have people who have declared this fight one of the worst robberies ever lol. | |

I think Johnson outstruck him and Torres showed how average his striking really is by not being able to control distance for even 10 seconds. I think Johnson drops to 125 when the weight class is brought in and he will, imo, be the eventual champ.

| Yellow card for what? Johnson to his credit was trying to be active and pass and be offensive, but everything he tried earned him a sweep or a submission attempt.
I just don't know what to make of this fight, while watching I kept saying "man miguel is winning" but at the end of the last couple rounds I kind of could see the case for Johnson once the horn sounded. Does the fact DJ is a difficult fighter to submit negate the offense of Torres?
Kind of like wondering what a guillotine attempt scores against a fighter like Sean Sherk who is borderline immune to said choke.

| Joe Jitsu is a bigger, badder version of Mighty Mouse, so at 125 there is no guarantee he'd win, besides, the Tachi bois are coming along nicely. I'd still have him top three immediately though. The UFC experience coupled with success against much larger fighters would give him a huge advantage in a 125 division. | |

| "Sorry guys, I fucked up and let the judges decide my fate. Johnson did a good job and had a great game plan... Rewatched my fight, think I won based on effective attacks, sweeps & position control... Thanks to Sherdog, Heavy, Bloody Elbow, & MMAJunkie for scoring the fight in my favor. Bad judging can't hold me down, I will be back." - Miguel Torres | |

| Johnson fractured his fibula completely when Torres checked a kick, and is now making fine use of an electric scooter, as he revealed on Twitter. He is expected to make a full recovery in 6-8 weeks. | |
