This. If Schaub were to fight a wrestler he could be in trouble. Don't let the fact he has KOd two all-americans inside the UFC get in the way of your theory! I meant Brock, Cain or Carwin. They would destroy him. |

| Schuab vs Lesnar would be a good fight. If they got to trading, anything could happen. Brocks wrestling might be good vs Schaub but its not on Cain or carwins level. Schaub might be tough to get or keep down and would tag Lesnar if it lingered on the feet. | |

I'm a fan but I don't think he should be rushed. Let him develop his game first before he fights the top 5. |

| Schaub is 18 months behind the wave o HWs that reign the ufc now. If he beats nog, he is ready. | |

The difference is... He doesn't have Carwin's size, wrestling, or power. He doesn't have Brock's size, wrestling, or power. He doesn't have JDS's hands, hands, or hands. And He doesn't have Cain's all around awesomeness (power, wrestling, drive, speed, etc...)

Yeah these guys are alot more explosive than Shaub also. Shaub needs a couple more fights before fighting any of these guys.

| Difference is he doesnt lose bladder control when hit or morph into a sack of garbage after 5 minutes. His natural speed is better than most ufc hws and his footwork and head movement is top level for an MMA HW. At hw, much of wrestling is predicated on athleticism. He has that. mid sized hws historically do best anyway. Schuab is the most legit guy in the ufc after the top 4 or so | |

Brock's wrestling isn't on Carwin's level? Sure Carwin is strong enough and has quality enough wrestling to stuff some of Brock's shots, but in pure wrestling no doubt Brock is the better wrestler. Cain..he has youth, quickness and agility on Brock, and might be a little better at this point, but to say not on his level? I don't know about that. Remember Brock got Cain down, and only because Brock was sloppy and postured up trying to pass to quickly did he give Cain the room to scramble to his feet. Most of Cain's takedowns were setup through his striking. In a pure wrestling match they'd be pretty even.

| Brock was exploited by big power punchers, sure he reacts poorly to getting hit, but the whole doesn't like getting hit and anyone will beat him standing thing has gotten overblown. | |

Really ???? definitely, Schaub has beaten a washed up Gabe, Tuscherer who is a joke and an old Mirco. Im putting mony on Nog if Schaub is a ridiculous favorite. But the point I am trying to make is that Big Nog is on the decline, he's not a spring chicken. I really don't see how it's tough to pick considering how long Nog's been out with injuries, and the fact he's been knocked out twice withing three fights. |

Anyone who strings together 4-5 wins is a immediate contender. actually the depth in the division is not the deepest but its decent. elite hws like cain, jds, lesnar, carwin. top hws like mir, nelson, nog. 2nd string guys like rothwell, barry, crocop, kongo, russow, madsen. prospects like schaub, meathead, browne, struve, herman. 3rd string guys perosh, morecarft, rosa, beltran etc. the problem isnt their depth. the problem is that thier champ and former champ are out for a while. 2 of their top hws in nog and mir are on their way out. the strikeforce roster would add alot more depth with top hws in overeem, bigfoot and werdum. second string guys in sergei, rogers and now monson. cheaters in barnett. 3rd string guys in arlovski ,johnson and othereem. and prospects in sdr and dc. still they too are having their own issues with barnett not able to fight in cali(their homestate) until a hearing. the tourny being delayed and not having a date for the second round of it being scheduled and of course sdr being in a possible career threatenin accident. in the end i dont think its the depth that hurts the ufcs hw division but yes i would like nothing more than the sf hws to get in the mix of the ufcs hw division already.
