A flyweight title bout is in the works for Tachi Palace Fights 10, as Darrell Montague will likely defend his 125-pound strap against Ian McCall at the event.

Sherdog.com has confirmed with a source close to the negotiations that verbal agreements are in place for bout. The news was first reported Thursday by ULTMMA.com. The event goes down Aug. 5 at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif.

Montague rides a six-fight win streak into his showdown with McCall. The 23-year-old “Mongoose” won the title in his most recent bout, dominating reigning champion Ulysses Gomez over five rounds at Tachi Palace Fights 8. Montague holds a perfect 3-0 record in Tachi Palace competition and owns four of his nine career wins by knockout.

McCall has gone a perfect 3-0 since posting a 1-2 record in the WEC as a bantamweight. “Uncle Creepy” debuted with Tachi Palace Fights in February, earning a unanimous decision over then-top-ranked flyweight Jussier da Silva. McCall would follow that victory with a dominant performance on May 6, as the Californian battered the previously unbeaten Dustin Ortiz en route to a unanimous nod at TPF 9.

Although his career once was in jeopardy due to a detached retina,
first-ever Bellator featherweight champion Joe Soto is returning to the
cage.

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmjaunkie.com) the fighter has been cleared by his doctor and the California State Athletic Commission.

While still under contract to Bellator, Soto is slated for a return at Tachi Palace Fights 10 on Aug. 4.

With Bellator's permission, Soto (9-1) is expected to meet Hawaiian
fight veteran Eddie Yagin (13-4-1) at the event, possibly in the night's
headliner. According to Tachi Fights promoter Jeremy Luchau, Soto
replaces Isaac De Jesus at the event. Verbal agreements are in place for
the fight.

As MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) previously reported, the ex-Bellator champ took De Jesus' spot in a fight with Eddie Yagin at Tachi Palace Fights 10, which takes place Aug. 4.

The reason Soto got the call is because De Jesus (10-3 MMA, 2-2 TPF)
tested positive for marijuana following his most recent appearance at
Tachi Palace Fights 9.
