Most of the examples of controversial fights weren't that entertaining and the idea that five round fights would be less controversial inherently doesn't even make sense when you look at Frankie Edgar or Lyoto Machida. Terrible.
This. Did anyone really want 2 extra rounds of Rampage vs Machida or Penn vs Fitch? Also, Rua vs Machida, Forrest vs Rampage and Edgar vs Maynard were all 5 rounds and still had controversial decisions. Absolutely I did.

| Ok - work on fixing judging then. The answer to poorly booked, boring fights with bad judging isn't longer poorly booked boring fights with bad judging. | |

U thought Rampage vs Machida was boring Wolf? I actually thought it was a pretty good chess match and in the 3rd round the action really picked up. 2 more rounds would have been great.

| Rampage hasn't had an exciting fight in ages. Fitch has never had an exciting fight. No way I wanted to see another 2 rounds of either fight. |

"You sit there and watch a game for hours and nobody wins?" he said. "I don't get it. That's one thing I hate about fights, too. Draws suck." Shows he knows nothing about football. Anyway good news. |

| http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/5/9/2161639/ufc-heavyweight-roy-nelson-wants-three-minute-rounds"You'd probably see a lot more action because you're constantly trying to win the round," Nelson said. "Guys wouldn't be feeling out for two minutes. It's boom, you've got to go right away. "They want to add more championship rounds -- that's where I say switch everything to three minutes and go 10 rounds. Then you have a lot of ups and downs."..."I've watched fights where I actually take a stopwatch and say, ‘No, he won four minutes of that round but the judges gave it to the other guy.' They just remember that last minute. Three minutes is short enough that the whole round stays in your head." Keith Kizer of the Nevada State Athletic Commission agrees that it would be easier on the judges: "Three-minute rounds is less stuff to judge. It's easier to run a mile than a marathon," Kizer said. "Five minutes is a long time and it does make judging more difficult."

| An MMA fighter in Las Vegas can't fight more than 25 minutes in 1 night. 10*3= 30min.
I like the idea of 3 min rounds but they should make it 5*3 with title fights being 7*3. |

I like the idea of 3 min rounds but they should make it 5*3 with title fights being 7*3. Why not keep the times as close to the current times are as possible? Non title fights are easy since 5 rounds would = 15 min. What about 8 round title fights? 24 min?

| I like the idea of e.minute rounds. Could lead to more activity. 8 round title fights to. If it is a draw, 1 minute sudden death. Woyld be the hottest minute in sports. | |

| You can't do that in title fights because as soon as a fight is finished both fighters lose their intensity. It would be unfair to make them fight another minute, especially if 1 of the fighters clearly won and got screwed by the decision. |

Fuck that. Square them up, put 10 seconds on the clock. Let the madness begins. You take 1 step back and you lose a point.
