| Figured we all like war movies and could recommend some to others. My favorites seem to revolve around WW2 and Civil War so heres some of my favorites
Glory - probably my favorite movie all time, not just pertaining to a war movie. Edward Zwick is one of the most underrated directors of our time (Glory and Blood Diamond). Powerful story that the movie honestly doesnt do justice for....but its close enough.
Enemy At the Gates - Stalingrad, first major battle fought under urban warfare. True story of the sniper battle that played out is nuts, another movie that doesnt capture the full story but does a great job. Vassili Zaitsev killed over 220 men in under 30 days. Thats frieking nuts.
Letters From Iwo Jima - does the impossible, shows WW2 from a Japanese soldiers perspective and even makes you feel for them and respect their courage. Ya Clint did the impossible.
BraveHeart - has there ever even been another movie about the Scottish-English war ??? Man that movie was something, I saw it in theaters when I was 8 or 9, only part I remember closing my eyes on was the end when I thought they may show his head actually be cut off.
Patton - Interesting look at the General's manuevers during WW2. Not bad for black and white, personally i think its a bit preachy. We get it the English were inept and Patton really won the front single handedly. (not)
Gettysburg - Great job of showing the 3 day battle in a very realistic way. If you havent seen it, take a day off with nothing to do and watch the 3 hour epic. Personally I think it is Martin Sheens finest performance.
Gods and Generals - Little longer and not quite as good as Gettysburg but Stephen Lang does a excellent job of playing Stonewall Jackson and the Chancellorsville surprise flank scene is worth the movie alone. Also shows First Bull RUn, Fredericksburg as well.
Flags of Our Fathers - learn the true story behind the most famous photograph in american history.
go ahead and make your ad's. Yes I liekd Saving Private Ryan but not one of my favorites | |

| When I was younger everyone would tell you that Geronimo jumped off this cliff in the Wildlife Refuge. Saying Geronimoooooo! as he jumped. But then in school they teach you that he was sick and fell off his horse and died. | |
