| I a little disappointed to hear this news in equal amounts towards Rampage and Dana/UFC. Rampage is obviously mentally fragile and immature but an incredible talent and entertaining entity. The UFC is indifferent to his problems and issues and like what always seem to be the case with them, were looking for maximum exploitation. It was a poor recipe which now looks to have led to failure, but... I would be surprised to not see him fight again.
Rampage is a documented froot-loop and as bi-polar as they come. He can say what he did in his blog and a day later the voice of TV's Patrick Duffy will be in his head like "What the fuck Rampage! Why you trying to go out like a bitch? Huh! Rampage needs to kick Rashad's ass man! Everyone is gonna dog you and clown on you, DAMN IT! I can't have someone like that in my crew!" He is gonna fight again I think. His acting career will be short lived with a few STDVD roles equal in amount to cameo appearances as himself, who is probably a better character then most roles he would be cast as.
Where I can see him having a little longevity would be as a talk show personality (like Best Damn Sports style), a reality TV host, or a commentator, he has no shortage of colorful things to say, albeit off color in some cases.

| I am not being mean Cap. I just hate hearing this generic, emotional diddling as a way to express his displeasure. Don't like the UFC? Don't like Dana? Fine. Show some class. Apologize to the people who have been paying your bills (the fans) for not fighting. Tell us a story about how the injuries have been building up or you are just not motivated. But show some class. Fans boo? So wat the booed Ali and he fought through it and though paying for his fighting days now, he is revered and beloved for being a fighter on multiple fronts. But he was classy to everybody but his opponents. | |

Why the fuck should Rampage show class when the president of the company and his supposed friend belittles him in public and calls him an idiot. It was extremley shortsighted lowclass behavior by Dana. This is a Hollywood flick that the UFC can bank on, not some straight to video B movie. Dana knows fully well that Rampage is emotionally fragile, and is apparently a "friend" yet he still goes after him in public. I understand why Dana would be upset, but he was the classless one here.

| Jruq. You are absolutely right and I should have pointed that out in my statement. BUT, you have to be the classy one and let the other guy look like a douchebag. He blamed everybody but Jesus Christ for why he is retiring.
As to the above statements? NO FUCKING SHIT! I have seen smoother dirt roads.

He's been in a bunch of wars in PRIDE and he's not getting any younger.
You're retarded. Rampage makes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than 100 or 200 G's per fight. With his ppv cut and his purse, which is already over $200,000, plus his sponsorship money, he probably would've made almost a million dollars for that fight. He's a pussy who's stupid enough to think he's got some kind of acting career. He's just not an actor.

| Rumors surrounding Rampage's movie deal indicate that he won't be highly paid for the first movie, but will cash in if there is a second film. | |

| The bonus is usually the same as the purse, so that is 650 right there, add ppv and if he beat Rashad I'd wager he'd do close to 3 million for that fight alone if it happened at the end of the year, assuming the card does 800k which is certainly would have, if 101 did numbers close to that. even if he lost then he'd still be around 2 million or so, at least.
(all this is assuming he gets 3 bucks a ppv share like gsp, couture and lesnar do)

Seriously? your calling Page a pussy?
and how is someone that acts in a movie not an actor? Yes, I'm calling Page a pussy. And just acting once, in a gimmick role, does not make someone an actor. Acting is a skill that takes a lot of time to develop. It takes a very specific talent, not unlike fighting does.

| Cap they are, but they also have to train. I unfortunately know since I was one. It is not easy to cry on command, but can be taught. It is taking an emotion say anger, depression, sadness, joy, horror, etc. Then you have to amplify it through yourself, then turn around and pull it back. I know it sounds stupid or overly complicated, but that is how it is done or at least how I learned it. But yes, child actors are actors. If you don't believe me, watch the sixth sense again. | |

Page may not be a good actor, but if he's in a legit role in a legit movie he has a fair claim to call himself an actor. Cappy, there is a big difference between a legitimate actor and a guy who gets a 90 minute role sporting a mohawk and repeating the phrases, "pity the foo" and "sucka". We have seen what Couture can do on film, do we consider him an actor? Hell no, he's a fighter with name value cast in bad movies. We have seen many athletes or enertainers from other fields try acting, but they aren't actors. Very few have made the transformation even semi-successfully... When Page is competing against Denzel, Morgan, Will and Jamie for roles, he will be an actor. Now, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he tries to continue to make a living at it if they try to turn him into an action type star. He has a decent physique (Could be improved for effect), and most action actors can't act worth a shit anyway...

Entry level actors are still actor's.

Entry level actors are still actor's. You know what I meant. He's not competing against anyone of note for roles and it isn't his primary source of income, so he's not an actor. Do we consider the guy waiting tables who has done commercials, a few "extra" roles and an occasional spot on a regular show an actor? I have a nephew who is just that, and he is the first to tell me he isn't an actor until he has regular work and can stop his day job... Quickly followed up by he's not a real actor unless he's demanding 7 figures, banging A listers and getting invited to all red carpet type events. Unless Page continues to land gigs that keep him in the game he will be nothing more than Mark Hamill or Paul Hogan. Carrying a SAG card doesn't cut it my friend...
