Jeff Lacy should kill himself if he cant knock out Diaz

I thought a Vargas Diaz fight would prove competitive. Vargas is WAY past prime, hasn't fought in awhile, would be all sorts of fat, and was never a big power guy anyway.

Lacey i see as a bunch more dangerous. Even if he has faded, he is at least been active of late, and is naturally a bigger fighter.

Sergio Martinez? that is just crazy talk. A freak show quality fight. probably get's killed before it starts because of the showtime HBO conflict, but that fight has no business getting made anyway.

And Wolf, if someone offers a purse in the $500K $750K range, which I'm assuming a Vargas type fight would produce., u can be sure Diaz would be all over that.

do not be skeptical of Diaz's claim of wanting to make bigger $$$. Never be skeptical of that claim, from anyone.

anybody watch the full interview with diaz tonight on inside mma ? diaz only knows 3 things he likes to fight he likes money and likes bud. Every thing else is awkward.

I would love it if Lou DiBella gave Nick a shot at Sergio Martinez, would be a nice revenge for the Couture vs Toney farce.

Beating Jeff Lacey wouldn't be that crazy, Joe Calzaghe took his soul back in 2005.

Roy Jones handled him a year or two ago

He's pretty far gone. Never been the same since Calzaghe abused him for 12 rds and # of shoulder issues

He can punch but just shot as can be, probably go rounds and get outworked. Wouldnt be surprised if he's TKO'd

Its a good first test for Diaz IMO

The Vargas fight would be more appealing, former Champ, who fought big names in his time, Jeff Lacey lost his spirit against Calzaghe and never got it back

Since the Calzaghe fight Jeff's been 4-3, lost his last two fights which include being stopped by an ancient Roy Jones Jr.

I don't care how far Lacey has fallen. That is a tough fight for a MMA crossover's first real go in the sport.

There is no reason of any kind to believe that Jeff Lacy wouldn't easily beat Nick Diaz in a boxing match. Absolutely none

And Nick Diaz isn't a boxer so it all comes out in the wash. Diaz's style of MMA boxing wouldn't translate at all either so I hope that's not how he actually boxes

boxrec.com has dhafir smith as 23-19-7 at the time of the Lacy fight. Has since lost by UD to Jesus Gonzalez.

still, if Nick were to beat Lacy, it would be impressive.

it means nothing IMO, if he wins he just beat a guy not close to top 20. Proves nothing really, if he loses it proves he doesnt come close to belonging.

Lose - lose situation imo. If he wins he cant claim any great victory. It isnt one.

Also agree his style is lead foot heavy, paw with the jab, look for a cobo to throw. Lacy will have fun if he comes out like that.

Disagree Bird, Diaz beating Lacy, in his first real go in the sport, would be a big story.
