Faber vs Cruz official as 132 headliner

UFC.com has confirmed that bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz will face former WEC featherweight champ Urijah Faber at UFC 132 on Pay Per View on July 2. The fight will be a rematch of their 2007 bout at WEC 26 in 2007. That fight, contested at 145lbs, was won by Faber with a first round guillotine choke at 1:38. The Faber loss remains the only blemish on Cruz' record. The champ is on an eight fight win streak and Faber is 2-0 as a bantamweight.

I think it has enough names that stick out. I expect it to do OK. I think we will see decent sales. People still love Wanderlei, either lover or hate Tito, Faber in a UFC title fight should have some interest. Casual fans will hear plenty of names they recognize on this card.

Fight wise it's a very good card but name wise it isn't. I think Wanderlei vs Leben actually pulls in the most viewers. I hope for Cruz and Faber it does good numbers.

If they run a big special about it with highlights of his past fights and stuff maybe they could build some hype. Plus these two legitimately dislike eachother and that always has a hook.

VS march madness. There were whole tables at the bar I was at focused on the basketball games on a few TVs and not really the fights.

The event easily does 600k+ on a typical night.

Yeah I was surprised that Rua and Jones did that low even with March Madness going on.

This card deserves to get a lot of buys, more than it actually will I think. A lot of great matchups.
