- Our earliest PPV estimates, and keep in mind anything this early is just an estimate, have ranged from 415,000 to 470,000, with the average being 445,000. If those numbers hold up, that would be considerably lower than most estimates people had going in. Usually UFC outdistances the estimates people have going in based on strong late hype. This didn't have it. The Countdown special was very good, but it had less of an audience than usual.

| I don't know why anybody thought they would be that high. The 900K i was seeing was just silly talk.
Shogun is not really a huge PPV draw and the Jon Jones hype had not really reached that far outside the regulars. It probably will for Jon Jones-Rashad Evans.

| That combined with a direct comp vs Saturday night March Madness and I wasn't feeling huge numbers either. Was thinking like 600k | |

| Really any event over I think either 250K buys or 350k buys is a success in that it earns money, read about how that works a while ago though.
But yeah it'd be disappointing, I'm thinking it cracks 500K final numbers.

But I hated Shad from the time he was TUF as a fighter. He use to be so cocky, remember him grabbing his nuts during a fight? He use to act like a douche in the cage.

No doubt. I also thought the card, aside from the top 1.5 fights was lacking. When it's one big fight, I think the savy MMA fan is willing to watch it on tape delay for free.

all the Jon Jones is mmas Mike Tyson talk needs to stop

| The low numbers have almost everything to do with March Madness. Many regular PPV buyers naturally would also be bracket obsessed NCAA fans. The sportsbar I was at had a bunch of TVs tuned to basketball even during the broadcast. | |

| GSP being the exception to that. His is the only PPV in March during the Tourney UFC or any MMA org has done in the past 5 years. It did very well. | |

| GSP is different. This card would have done 600k min without being head to head with March Madness. | |

when in reality he isnt even close, atleast as far as drawing power I think they are OBVIOUSLY comparing Jones to Tyson on a performance level standpoint Bird...not drawing power. Jones at this stage of his career is destroying people and looking unbeatable much like Tyson was.
