| 250,000 to 300,000 PPV Buys
wow that is shitty.
According to Dave Meltzer UFC 127 drew between 250-300,000 improving on last year's UFC 110 and putting the UFC roughly 500,000 buys up on this period last year. If this trend continues the UFC will once smash it's own PPV records set last year at some rather large numbers if I recall correctly. The UFC's PPV business grew this year mainly due to lack of the same injury crisis that afflicted the promotion last year and the influx of new stars from the WEC.
If these trends continue the UFC will become the first provider to break ten million pay-per-view buys in a calender year.
gotta love the spin | |

| I figured about 300-350. BJ-Fitch main event with no real big-time co-fights | |

| Figured like Bobbit, but the thought would be that Dana would stack cards even more to compensate, I think he will.
Is it me or do cards not do well when they're in Australia.

| i think it was just a lame duck card bookended by good cards but still when they say 250,000 - 300,000 you gotta really wonder how bad it actually did | |

| Well when Bisping vs Rivera is the co-main event and Fitch is in the main event what do you expect? | |

+1000! BJ pulled in 250k viewers himself and the rest of the guys pulled in the rest. This card had 250k written all over it. I thought it would do at the most 400k.

| Damn, suprised a Penn headlined card did so poorly.
It's eitheir Fitch is that big of an interest killer, or people have not gotten over the Frankie Edgar losses in regards to BJ Penn....or people thought they card didnt look to be worth 50 bucks which top to bottom at first glance..probabaly not.

| Penn couldn't save this. The card was nothing special for a potential buyer. | |

Absolutely agree. Casual fans may have knew BJ but probably not many more on the card. Bisping is hated, Fitch is hated, Rivera isnt known so to be honest what would they expect?

| Bloodyelbow just posted an interesting piece saying the UFC brand doesnt get ppv buys anymore, people have become educated and follow certain fighters vs just watching because it was UFC just a couple years ago.
They used 127 and the Versus #s (which where the worst UFC television numbers ever) as proof

A nice little chunck of buyers might not of known better and bought "UFC" not "UFC 127:Penn vs Fitch" if that makes sense.

| I sort of expected it to be bad, because of the overseas stuff, but mostly because the card was weak on paper. Joe and Dana both know how the game works and will always do their best to patch up a weak card, but you have to admit, some cards that appear strong at first, end up getting weaker due to injury, suspension or other reasons. Shit just happens, but they normally do a good job. I mean it i not like they are pulling in Aflliction numbers or anything. | |

| Overseas, no title fight. Condit injury might have hurt it a little bit. | |

Bad judging? Dana doesn't like him? Enough with the hate, he earned his shot.
