| So I've been sick lately, sinus infection, but I usually can let them heal on their own and they clear up within a week. So basically that's what happened, it was clearing up on it's own, but then Sunday night, I had all this pressure and throbbing pain in my right ear out of nowhere. Well I went to an immediate care doctor I go to, he said it was an ear infection, gave me meds, and sent me on my way. Well I wakeup in the middle of the night last night, and my left ear now feels like it has all this gunk in it, look at my pillow and there's blood all over it. My ear drum ruptured or became perforated (tiny hole) and basically now I can't hear out of either ear, well it's very muttled. Anyways, good times. | |

I actually had a ruptured ear drum once, had a ear infection (sinus' like you) and flew, after i flew my ear was all fucked up couldnt hear out of it good or anything, I was trying to continuously pop it, after a week of misery i finally said fuck it and was determined to pop it, was in 8th grade talkin with a friend said hold on, tried to pop my ears, woke up on the ground and a table was knocked over.
blacked out popping my ear, but my ear felt great after haha

| Doc didn't mention anything about it, I guess the ear drum rupturing is almost part of the bodies natural healing process, that's what he said at least.
It kind of feels like that feeling when you have water in your ear right now, but it's inflammation and blood in there. He said any pain left should go away in a couple days with taking the meds, but my hearing won't fully comeback for a while, he also said it could comeback in a week though too.

Sounds painful and annoying. I can barely stand an ear infection so I don't even want to think about it lol

| Killer did you get water in your ear and it was trapped for a while? I've had that too, similar feeling to right now but not much pain, used to get that when I was swimming a lot.
OU, yeah first real ear problem for me, it is incedibly annoying, like you can hear nothing, the phone is the worst, how many times can I say what in a conversation?

| I had alot of ear infections and perforations growing up due to low pneumococcal antibodies. What your experiencing is fairly normal for a perforated ear drum. The good news is the pressure should be gone now. The bad news is it will continue to drain and become "tender" for a few days at least. You may lose a little hearing long term but nothing too dramatic. Hope you feel better soon though, I know how much ear infections suck. I'd rather have a toothache than an earache. | |

| Shitty you had to deal with this a lot Ludo, and def would take a toothache over this, hell I wouldn't even know I had one. This is actually my first ear problem aside from swimmers ear, and it's def annoying as fuck. But I'm actually already feeling better, but that could be the roids and painkillers talking. Drainage is still happening, laid down for a second and there was a little blood gunk spot on the pillow. But the pain is down and only some pressure left. Doc said pain will go away, but the muttle hearing could last a week only to several, hopng for the prior. Even though my hearing is shit now, I'm encouraged because if I snap my fingers by my ears, I hear it fairly normally. | |
