| http://www.mmamania.com/2011/2/18/2001558/was-fedor-emelianenkos-loss-the-desired-result-for-strikeforceMMA media mogul Ariel Helwani essentially says as much speaking with Sherdog (transcription via Fight Opinion): - Quote :
- "I don't think that they will admit this to us on the record at least but, trust me, I'm not going to call anyone out but I spoke to a few people in Strikeforce who, when I said ‘what does this mean?', a smile instantly appeared on their face. I mean, I'm not saying that they're rooting for Fedor, obviously not, but let's be honest, I mean, everyone knows that it's very hard to deal with M-1. So, now, April 9th it's not an M-1 Global & Strikeforce event. That's just a Strikeforce event."

| So the org that has been bending over backwards to get sign fedor, now is happy that he lost? they are happy that the Fedor Reem mega fight is now off?
I understand that M-1 is hard to deal with, but if they didn't think Fedor is worth the trouble, then why did they sign him?
Very shoddy logic.

| April 9th was not going to be a SF-M-1 event for the simple fact that Fedor was not fighting on it whether he won or lost last weekend. Unless Fedor being in the building means it has to be a co-promoted event.

| another good point Kings.
this was Helwani's notion? Man I love that guy, but that is weak. Wonder if his ties to the UFC has him spouting garbage. Dude needs to be called out for this. | |

| That is the stupidest argument I have ever heard, however, I think this was the best thing for the future of SF. No one can say they didn't bring in the best available HWs to fight in their Grand Prix and now they can probably option out of any M-1 deal. So it may be a win-win, but I do not think Scott Coker was that happy about the loss either. | |
